Job Description

Job Title : Principal Systems Architect: EV Propulsion & Power Electronics

Job Purpose:

As a core member of the Novus engineering team, you will design the electronic architecture for multiple EV platforms. Your role involves detailing control logic in multi-controller networks with a customer-first approach to ensure ease of diagnostics and troubleshooting.

Your mission is to ensure all platforms meet product specifications while strictly adhering to global automotive regulations and functional safety standards. As part of the core team, you will also gain exposure to various areas of product development beyond your primary competencies.

Key Responsibilities

E/E Architecture Design: Defining the high-level blueprint for vehicle Electrical/Electronic systems, including the selection of specific controllers to meet product specifications.

Network Architecture: Designing internal communication networks using CAN to define how controllers interact.

Powertrain Sizing & Selection: Leading mathematical modeling and simulation to determine optimal battery capacity and motor torque/power ratings to achieve range and performance targets

Control Logic Development: Developing algorithms for vehicle behavior, including drive modes & Safe modes

Functional Safety & Compliance: Ensuring vehicle designs adhere to global safety standards and regulations by defining essential fail-safe states.

Advanced Diagnostics (OBD): Designing diagnostic frameworks to enable rapid fault identification for technicians and accurate health alerts for user through cloud.

Expertise:

  • Powertrain Sizing: Proficiency in calculating motor power, torque, and battery energy requirements based on varied drive cycles.
  • System Blueprinting: Ability to design scalable High Voltage (HV) and Low Voltage (LV) layouts and wiring harness architectures.
  • Network Management: Experience in developing deterministic multi-controller synchronization logic.
  • Automotive Protocols: Expert-level mastery of CAN, LIN, and Automotive Ethernet protocols for inter-component communication.
  • Model-Based Design: Proficiency in MATLAB for full-vehicle system modelling and auto-code generation.
  • Advanced Analytics: Use of Python for data-driven diagnostics, battery health monitoring, and AI-assisted design optimization.
  • Experience : 8-15 Years
