Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Quality Assurance leader to build and own the quality engineering function for the Versa Messaging Service (VMS), a platform that distributes identity, posture, and threat-context data.

VMS is a Kubernetes-based appliance built from a Go microservices data plane, a Java/Spring Boot control plane, and a gRPC/Protobuf streaming contract consumed by other Versa products.

You will define the quality strategy for the platform, build automated test coverage across the Go data path, establish integration and performance testing capabilities from first principles, embed quality gates into CI/CD, and lead a team of SDETs. You will work across engineering, DevOps, security, and release management, and coordinate with other product teams to ensure cross-product compatibility.

Educational Qualification:

B.E./B.Tech. or higher degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics and Communication or equivalent.

Professional Qualification:

15+ years of experience in software quality engineering, test automation and quality leadership, including a minimum of 5 years leading QA or SDET teams.

Job Responsibilities:

Strategy and Leadership

• Define the quality strategy, test architecture, and release-readiness criteria for VMS.
• Hire, build, and lead a team of SDETs; set technical standards and review their work.
• Own the release go/no-go signal across concurrent branches; report coverage, escaped-defect, and cycle-time metrics to leadership.

Test Automation

• Build the integration and end-to-end test harness for the publish/subscribe path across record types, services, and tenants.
• Define contract and schema-evolution testing for the gRPC/Protobuf interface to protect backward compatibility for deployed VOS clients.
• Drive shift-left practice by making developers accountable for testing their own changes.

Platform and Lifecycle

• Own the installation and upgrade test matrix across install methods (ISO, package), topologies (single-node, multi-node), build variants (FIPS, non-FIPS), and lifecycle operations (in-place upgrade, rollback, database migration).

Performance and Resilience

• Build the capacity model from first principles; publish supported limits for throughput, record count, and tenants.
• Own soak and memory-growth testing; measure and document failover behavior, including RTO and RPO.

Essential Skills:

• Strong programming skills in Go or Java, plus Python or a similar scripting language, for building test frameworks and tooling.
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes (kubeadm clusters, networking, ingress, storage, operators) and Docker.
• Experience testing on-premises or appliance software, including ISO/package installation, in-place upgrade and rollback, and hardened or certified build variants.
• Working knowledge of gRPC and Protocol Buffers, including streaming APIs.
• Strong Linux systems knowledge and shell scripting skills, including testing shell-based installation and lifecycle automation.
• Working knowledge of Kafka, TCP/IP, TLS/mTLS, HTTP, syslog, RADIUS, SCIM, and PKI.
• Experience with performance engineering, including load model design, load generation, and profiling.
• Experience owning security and compliance testing in a certified product context (FIPS, STIG, Common Criteria, or equivalent).
• Experience designing and maintaining test automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines (for example, Jenkins or GitLab CI) with automated quality gates.

Desirable Skills:

• Familiarity with identity and access protocols (SAML, OAuth2/OIDC).
• Experience with endpoint posture and threat-intelligence integrations.
• Familiarity with observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP).
