Principal Scala (Apache Spark) Engineer at BairesDev

We are seeking a Principal Scala (Apache Spark) Engineer to define the technical vision and architecture for large-scale distributed data systems. You'll shape Spark ecosystem contributions, design high-performance platforms, and influence roadmap and best practices.

What You'll Do:

- Contribute actively to Apache Spark and related open source projects as a core contributor.

- Define the architecture and optimization strategies for enterprise-scale Spark platforms.

- Lead technical vision for Spark integrations, advanced Dataset APIs, and performance enhancements.

- Shape best practices for Scala and Spark development across teams.

- Influence Apache Spark's evolution through active participation in open source contributions.

What we are looking for:

- 10+ years of experience in software development.

- Strong expertise in Scala, functional programming, and JVM optimization.

- Deep understanding of Spark internals, including Catalyst, Tungsten, and query execution.

- Proven record of leading large-scale distributed Spark projects.

- Core contributions to Apache Spark or related open source projects.

- Advanced level of English.
