Role: Principal Program Manager – Engineering
Job Summary:
We are seeking a high‑impact Principal Program Manager – Engineering to strengthen and evolve our Program Management Office (PMO). This role is designed for a senior, hands‑on leader who can own complex, cross‑portfolio engineering programs, drive execution rigor, and act as a trusted interface between Engineering, Product, Executive Leadership, and top customers.
The ideal candidate brings 15–20 years of experience, deep technical orientation, strong telecom domain knowledge, and the executive presence to translate complex engineering realities into clear, outcome‑driven narratives—including board‑level and C‑suite communications.
This role is critical to owning strategic product transformation initiatives, driving engineering performance, representing Engineering for key customers, and ensuring predictable, high‑quality delivery at scale.
Roles & Responsibility:
- Lead and deliver large, multi‑year, cross‑functional engineering programs spanning telecom roaming, core network platforms, security firewalls, and fraud & risk management solutions.
- Own end‑to‑end program execution—from planning and dependency management through delivery, validation, and post‑release governance.
- Drive rigorous program planning, milestone tracking, risk management, and issue resolution with a strong bias for execution.
- Translate strategic goals into executable roadmaps, aligned with engineering capacity, business priorities, and customer commitments.
- Lead quarterly planning cycles, OKRs, and long‑range capacity forecasting in partnership with engineering leadership.
- Represent Engineering for Mobileum's top five strategic customers, including:
- Program governance and status reviews
- Escalation management
- Cross‑team coordination and risk mitigation
- Create and present executive‑ready communications, including:
- Leadership and board‑level decks
- Customer executive updates
- Data‑driven dashboards and risk narratives
- Serve as a single point of accountability during customer escalations, driving clarity, ownership, and resolution.
- Drive alignment across globally distributed teams, spanning time zones and geographies.
- Proactively identify inter‑team dependencies, resolve conflicts, and push execution forward despite ambiguity or resistance.
Technical Competencies & Domain Expertise:
- Deep understanding of telecom roaming and interconnect technologies, including IPX/GRX, Diameter/RADIUS, LTE and 5G roaming, settlement, and inter‑operator processes.
- Strong knowledge of network security architectures, signaling security, firewalls, and GSMA security guidelines.
- Familiarity with telecom fraud prevention, SIM security, threat intelligence, and mobile risk management systems.
- Working knowledge of compliance and regulatory frameworks such as GDPR, ISO 27001, and security certifications relevant to telecom platforms.
Desired Profile: -
- 15–20 years of experience in technical program management, engineering leadership, or large‑scale technology delivery roles.
- Proven experience owning business‑critical, cross‑portfolio programs in complex technical environments.
- Strong technical orientation with the ability to challenge assumptions, ask the right questions, and partner closely with architects and senior engineers.
- Demonstrated success operating in high‑pressure, ambiguous environments, with the ability to course‑correct and deliver outcomes.
- Deep expertise in Agile, Scrum, and iterative delivery models, balanced with strong governance and operational discipline.
- Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, capable of converting complex inputs into clear executive narratives.
- Strong analytical mindset with meticulous attention to detail, documentation, and metrics‑driven decision making.
- Influential leader with the ability to drive alignment, negotiate trade‑offs, and execute across senior stakeholders.
- Prior exposure to executive governance forums, customer EBRs, and board‑level reporting.
- Proficiency with program and delivery tooling such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, GitLab, Jenkins, and related ecosystems.

Educational Qualification: Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related technical field; an MBA is a plus.
