About the Role:
We are seeking a hands-on Principal Product Engineer (Healthcare Data Platform) to lead the design, development, and evolution of the software platform, with an initial focus on healthcare and life sciences.
This individual will:
- Assist with architecting and building the core platform
- Translate vision into scalable, production-ready software
- Own the product roadmap and feature prioritization
- Ensure compliance with healthcare standards and regulations
- Build and lead a high-performing engineering team
This is a foundational role where you will own both product direction and technical architecture, while building and leading a high-performing engineering team (Attached - Detailed version of JD).
Key Responsibilities:
- Own end-to-end product lifecycle (concept MVP scale)
- Translate business vision into scalable architecture and roadmap
- Design and build a cloud-native data platform (data pipelines, APIs, dashboards)
- Define core capabilities: data ingestion, validation, normalization, and integrations
- Ensure alignment with healthcare standards (HIPAA, HL7, FHIR, HITRUST)
- Build systems for data integrity, normalization, and AI-ready datasets
- Establish best practices (coding standards, CI/CD, DevOps)
- Hire, mentor, and scale the engineering team
- Collaborate with leadership, customers, and GTM teams
Required Qualifications:
- 8–15+ years in software engineering
- Experience as a lead engineer, architect, or technical product leader
Strong Full-stack skills:
- Backend: Python, Java, or Node.js
- Frontend: React or similar
- Experience building data platforms, pipelines, or SaaS products
- Cloud experience: AWS, Azure, or GCP
Healthcare Experience (Must Have)
- Experience building products in healthcare or life sciences
- Familiarity with HIPAA, HL7, FHIR, and HITRUST
- Understanding of PHI, data privacy, and healthcare systems (EHR/EMR)
Nice to Have:
- Experience with healthcare data platforms or EHR/EMR systems
- Knowledge of data lakes, warehouses, or AI/ML pipelines
- Familiarity with data protection platforms (e.g., Veeam)
- Startup or early-stage product experience
