Principal Naval Architect

FloatSys is a provider of value-added services to the maritime Industry worldwide. Currently we are in search of a Principal Naval Architect to strengthen our office in Kochi, India. Roles and responsibilities for the position, inter alia include the following:

--Preparation and/or review of trim and stability booklet and other

mandatory onboard documentation for vessels.

--Performance of various naval architectural calculations, particularly

performance of scantling calculations as well as review of structural

drawings for the vessels.

--Performance of tonnage/freeboard computations

--Review of plans for verification of compliance with various

national/international regulations.

--Content development for eLearning materials

--Any other roles or responsibilities assigned to you from time to time by the

management.

--Person recruited will be on training for the initial 6 months period.

-Degree in Naval Architecture

-10 to 15 years design experience

-Good knowledge in AutoCAD

-Able to analyse and interpret technical information and drawings

-Relevant shipyard/design office work experience is desirable.

-Keen on thinking creatively.

-Strong interpersonal skills

-Able to work effectively with a team of engineers.

-Meticulous attention to detail.

-Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

-Excellent spatial awareness
