The D. E. Shaw group is a global investment and technology development firm with more than $90 billion in investment capital as of March 1, 2026, and offices in North America, Europe, and Asia. Since our founding in 1988, our firm has earned an international reputation for successful investing based on innovation, careful risk management, and the quality and depth of our staff. We have a significant presence in the world's capital markets, investing in a wide range of companies and financial instruments in both developed and developing economies.
We seek an experienced technical engineering manager with an excellent engineering foundation and a proven track record in building and delivering full-stack enterprise products to join the Management Company Accounting (MCA) Tech team based in Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Gurugram. The team is responsible for all accounting, reporting, payroll and accounts payable functions for the management company entities. The ideal candidate will be language and framework agnostic — comfortable working with Python, Java, or other enterprise-grade technologies — and able to design solutions end-to-end, from architecture to deployment.
WHAT YOU'LL DO DAY-TO-DAY:
You will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering scalable, high‑performance enterprise applications across the full technology stack while maintaining robust engineering quality. You will be responsible for technical decisions, design reviews, feasibility analysis, roadmap planning, and execution oversight. Your role will involve rebuilding legacy processes in modern tech stacks from the ground up. You will build and manage the technology roadmap for MCA systems, including vendor products and their integrations. You will develop both high‑level and low-level designs, ensuring scalability, availability, and maintainability. You will work closely with business stakeholders and product managers to understand current processes and define future-state tools. In addition, you will oversee project management activities including scope definition, milestone planning, dependency management, and risk mitigation. As a technical leader, you will provide direction and guidance to junior team members, actively participate in code and design reviews, and champion engineering best practices to ensure robust, scalable, and maintainable solutions.
