Job Overview:
The Principal IT Pillar Specialist is responsible for interpreting internal or external business issues and recommending best practices. They will be tasked with solving complex IT Pillar-related problems and will work independently with minimal guidance. They may be responsible for leading functional teams or projects and are regarded as a specialist in the field of IT Pillar. As such, they must have in-depth expertise in the IT Pillar as well as broad knowledge of the IT Pillar discipline within the Information Technology function.
Responsibilities
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Various configuration activities of SmartPlant Foundation.
- Mapping of properties from various SmartPlant tools to SPF and vice versa.
- Integration of Smart Plant tools with SmartPlant Foundation.
- Backup and Restore of SmartPlant Foundation.
- Knowledge of the database of SPF
- Knowledge of the database of various tools which integrates with the SPF
- Proper working knowledge and experience about SmartPlant Modules like Schema Object Administration, System Administration, Change Management Administration, Server Manager and Schema Editor.
- Create, Update, Query and detail form configuration SPF setup and backup and restore.
- SPF schema management: Hierarchy, Class Def, Interface Def, Property Def, Rel Def, View Def, Edge Def, Graph Def, Forms, Menus, Menu Items and Methods etc.
- Setting up Security model like User , Roles and Access groups
- Requirement gathering for new SmartPlant Project, Create Project documents RFP, FRS &FDS
- Well versed with Installation and configuration of SmartPlant Enterprise Suite of applications including SmartPlant Foundation, SmartPlant Markup, SmartPlant Owner Operators (SPO), SmartPlant Construction, Operating Plant, PE, Systems Completion, VTL, SmartPlant License Manager, SmartPlanInterop Publisher and Model Loader etc...
- Knowledgeable in configuring the Integration of SmartPlant Design Tools SmartPlant P&ID, SmartPlant Instrumentation, SmartPlant Electrical and SmartPlant3D with SmartPlant Foundation application.
- Knowledgeable in Mapping of the engineering data with the SmartPlant Schema to allow the flow of data from tools like SPPID, SP3D, SPI into SPF.
- Highly involved in mission critical issues arise with the Integration systems while publishing the engineering data/Retrieving, Mapping, schema validation and performance.
- Installation and troubleshooting of licensing mechanism of SPLM to allow the SmartPlant Enterprise suite of applications work seamlessly.
- Providing configuration and production support to resolve issues related to Integration of SmartPlant Suite with SPF particularly registering, publish/retrieve, mapping, schema validation which includes SPPID, SP3D, SPI, SPEL.
- Providing configuration and production support to SPF, SPO Core, Handover, System Completions and SmartPlant Construction applications.
- Resolving installation, configuration issues related to Document management systems including workflows and transmittal mechanisms.
- In-depth troubleshooting of SmartPlant Foundation issues with the Diagnostic Utilities and through in-built debug tracing available.
- In depth, understanding of the table structure of SPF allows in looking at the database level and able to understand the issues in less time with tools like SQL Developer.
- To be able to provide configuration and production support for the customers.
- Working knowledge of Datasheet and Datalist functionalities.
- SDV Integration with SPF for data Validation.
- To Configure SPF WebClient for EDS and DMS.
- Very good knowledge in Document management, Transmittals, workflows, Vault management with replication and various other SPF functionalities.

Qualifications
Essential Qualifications and Education:
- Education: Degree in engineering or equivalent technical diploma. Strong understanding of current engineering design, drafting applications and engineering data integration software packages.
- Experience: Minimum 8-15years experience in SPF Administration. Utilizes current systems technology, tools and processes to achieve these aims. Good understanding of engineering practices & project execution concepts.
