Principal Functional Consultant

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Business Analysts and clients to gather and define requirements
• Design system enhancements and functionality to meet business/user needs
• Provide functional process ownership across multiple business process areas
• Organize and lead problem-solving discussions with clients, internal teams, and project managers
• Perform configuration work to support new and existing functionality in SAP Payroll and Time modules
• Conduct configuration reviews and resolve related issues within areas of expertise
• Serve as the functional integration owner across multiple process areas
• Create Functional Design Documents (FDD) based on Use Case Documents
• Interpret Functional Specifications and develop Detailed Design Specifications
• Develop high-quality solutions aligned with FDDs
• Review Technical Design Documents (TDD) and unit test plans for completeness
• Support developers and ensure alignment with functional requirements
• Conduct code reviews of team member deliverables
• Perform integration testing to ensure new features don't affect existing functionality
• Facilitate knowledge transfer to functional analysts and mentor junior team members
• Provide oversight for various SAP projects to assess impact on shared instances
• Configure SAP Payroll and Time modules based on business requirements
• Use ASAP methodology across all implementation phases
• Follow standards, protocols, and change control procedures for all development
• Analyze current business processes and recommend improvements
• Identify SAP solution opportunities and consult with business users
• Lead full lifecycle SAP implementation: Blueprinting, Configuration, Testing, and Support
• Develop technical specifications for enhancements and customizations
• Assist with documentation: Business Process Procedures, Test Scenarios, End-user Guides
• Independently lead SAP module reviews, requirement sessions, and UATs with clients

Technical & Functional Expertise:

• 10–15 years of SAP HCM experience with a focus on Indonesia Payroll and Time
• Knowledge of China, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Korea, New Zealand, Thailand
• Experience in at least two additional APJ countries: Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, India
• Certified EC/ECP professional with strong APJ payroll experience
• Minimum 5 end-to-end SAP implementation projects
• Proficient in ESS/MSS, HRSP, and SAP Time Module
• SAP Payroll configuration for Gross and Net Payroll, Tax Reporter, and Time Evaluation
• Experience in schema development and writing PCRs (Personnel Calculation Rules)
• Ability to define and create custom payroll functions and operations
• Expertise in parallel payroll testing (4–5 years)
• Experience with year-end activities and support pack implementations
• Strong background in compliance reporting for multiple countries
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

Education & Certifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in a related technical discipline with 8+ years of relevant experience
• Master's Degree in a related technical discipline with 6+ years of relevant experience
