Principal Financial Analyst – Global Business Finance

Location: Bengaluru, India

Experience: 10–15 years

Work Hours: 6:00 PM to 3:00 AM IST, aligned with US business hours

Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and results-driven Principal Financial Analyst to provide strategic financial support to global and regional business teams.

In this role, you will lead budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, financial analysis, and scenario planning for assigned business areas. You will connect operational performance with financial outcomes, identify risks and opportunities, and translate complex data into actionable recommendations for senior leaders.

The successful candidate will be a trusted business partner who can operate independently, influence stakeholders, manage competing priorities, and improve the efficiency and scalability of FP&A processes. Experience applying artificial intelligence, advanced analytics, and automation to Finance workflows will be a strong advantage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, management reporting, and variance analysis for assigned business areas.
  • Provide strategic financial analysis and decision support to global and regional Finance and business leaders.
  • Conduct scenario, sensitivity, and investment analyses to evaluate business risks, opportunities, strategic alternatives, and potential financial outcomes.
  • Analyze Cloud and other relevant operational KPIs, establishing clear connections between business performance, financial results, and long-term value creation.
  • Identify key business drivers, financial trends, performance gaps, and emerging risks, and recommend practical actions to improve outcomes.
  • Translate complex financial and operational data into clear business narratives, executive presentations, dashboards, and actionable recommendations.
  • Partner with cross-functional and geographically distributed stakeholders to support business planning, performance management, financial governance, and long-term strategy.
  • Drive the automation, standardization, and continuous improvement of FP&A processes by applying AI tools, advanced analytics, reporting platforms, and workflow technologies.

Qualifications and Skills

Mandatory

  • 10–15 years of relevant experience in Financial Planning and Analysis, Business Finance, Corporate Finance, or a closely related function.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Strong expertise in budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, management reporting, variance analysis, and scenario modelling.
  • Proven experience partnering with and influencing senior Finance and business leaders.
  • Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and financial-modelling capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to connect operational KPIs and business drivers with financial performance.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder-management, and executive-presentation skills.
  • Ability to translate complex financial and operational data into clear, concise, and actionable business recommendations.
  • A demonstrated track record of improving, automating, or standardizing Finance and FP&A processes.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced, global environment.
  • Willingness and ability to work from 6:00 PM to 3:00 AM IST to collaborate with US-based stakeholders.

Good to Have

  • Experience working in a multinational or matrixed organization.
  • MBA, Chartered Accountant qualification, Certified Public Accountant qualification, or an equivalent professional credential.
  • Experience supporting Cloud, SaaS, technology, subscription-based, or other recurring-revenue businesses.
  • Hands-on experience with AI tools, advanced analytics, reporting automation, data-visualization platforms, or workflow-automation technologies.
  • Experience working with geographically distributed teams and stakeholders across multiple regions.
  • Strong understanding of Cloud business metrics, unit economics, or subscription-based performance indicators.
  • A strong orientation toward innovation, operational excellence, process scalability, and continuous improvement.
