Principal Engineer, Programmatic Marketplace

The opportunity

Make media accountable to the lease.

Leaser is building a demand network for multifamily: a programmable system that helps asset owners direct demand toward exposed inventory and optimize for profitable revenue—not clicks, leads, or media delivery alone.

As Principal Engineer, Programmatic Marketplace, you'll architect the layer connecting supply and marketplace partners—including Index Exchange, PubMatic, and Magnite—to Leaser's decision and measurement systems. You'll shape both the integration strategy and the production control plane behind it.

What you'll own

Marketplace integrations

Design durable integrations for deal creation, activation, monitoring, reporting, and reconciliation across Index Exchange, PubMatic, Magnite, and future partners.

The demand control plane

Translate inventory exposure and portfolio economics into governed campaign, deal, pacing, and allocation decisions.

Identity and event integrity

Connect impression, engagement, prospect, tour, application, and lease signals without pretending the attribution problem is simpler than it is.

Outcome-aware allocation

Move budget and demand using marginal value, confidence, constraints, and the cost of waiting—not vanity metrics.

Experimentation and incrementality

Build holdouts, counterfactual measurement, and evidence standards that distinguish caused outcomes from correlated activity.

Operational trust

Make every consequential action observable, reversible where possible, policy-bound, and explainable to enterprise operators.

What you bring

• Deep production experience in programmatic advertising, ad marketplaces, bidding infrastructure, curation, CTV, or adjacent high-scale systems.
• Hands-on knowledge of marketplace and deal APIs, delivery semantics, reporting discrepancies, pacing, and reconciliation.
• Strong distributed-systems fundamentals: idempotency, retries, event ordering, backpressure, observability, and graceful degradation.
• The ability to model messy cross-system identity and measurement problems with intellectual honesty.
• Experience turning commercial and operational constraints into clear technical primitives and interfaces.
• Principal-level judgment: you can set architecture, write production code, challenge assumptions, and bring others with you.

Experience with Index Exchange, PubMatic, or Magnite is strongly relevant. Multifamily experience is welcome but not required; we can teach the domain if you bring marketplace depth and outcome-oriented thinking.

You have mapped partner capabilities and failure modes, established the integration architecture, and shipped into the critical path.

Leaser can create, operate, and reconcile marketplace demand through a reliable control plane with meaningful outcome telemetry.

12 months

The network reallocates demand based on measured leasing value, with evidence strong enough to earn greater operational autonomy.
