Role Title: Principal Engineer

JOB SUMMARY:

Marriott has an exciting opportunity for Oracle Database Administrator – Corporate Systems. This role is part of the team focused on deploying new and emerging capabilities to our next generation cloud-based ERP, HR, Payroll, analytics, and machine learning platforms. Appropriate candidates have a passion for emerging technologies with a vision for building sustainable and scalable products and a strong drive for success.

In this role as Oracle Database Administrator, you will be responsible for the design, management, and optimization of Oracle Databases in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure environment. This role ensures high availability, performance, and security of cloud-based systems and supports enterprise-wide cloud initiatives including migrations, automation, and integration with Oracle Identity Cloud Service (IDCS).

In addition, you will research emerging technologies that will provide future capabilities as well as seek solutions for complex technical issues. You will make decisions on complex, non-routine requests to support OCI environments for Marriott business teams.

CANDIDATE PROFILE:

Required Qualifications:

• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with of Oracle Database (11g/12c/19c/26ai), Oracle Autonomous Database and Oracle Exadata
• In-depth knowledge of various aspects of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
• 10+ years of experience in Database system administration, with at least 2 years in OCI.
• Proficiency in Linux/UNIX systems, scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell), and virtualization.
• Strong understanding of cloud security, networking, and automation tools.
• Ability to listen and understand business requirements, ask questions, and translate the requirements into technical design documents
• Ability to elicit, organize and document detailed and comprehensive technical, and non-functional requirements
• Experience in developing test plans, test scripts, and managing unit, system, regression, and user acceptance testing
• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues across platforms and follow through to a resolution
• Ability to work independently, identifying and driving required tasks to completion in a timely manner
• Proven ability to support all aspects of large, complex applications with multiple stakeholders
• Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple support requests while working on time sensitive projects and upgrades
• Experience in waterfall and/or agile software methodologies
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience/certification
• 2-5 years experience in information technology application development support

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certifications in Oracle Database Administration, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Architect Associate or Professional, OCI Operations and Security.
• Technology leadership experience in an outsourced or internally managed environment
• 6-10 years domain experience relevant to supported business function; Industry and competitive landscape knowledge.
• Experience with Oracle ERP, HCM, OIC, OAC and middleware components like WebLogic
