The Principal Engineer Instrumentation is responsible for leading instrumentation and control system engineering activities for assigned commodities across projects. The role ensures planning, coordination, quality, and timely delivery of all instrumentation engineering deliverables, while providing technical guidance to the engineering team and supporting procurement and tracking of instrumentation equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Apply strong knowledge of instrumentation and control system engineering across various industries.
- Utilize software tools such as SPI and Navisworks for engineering coordination and planning.
- Plan all deliverables related to the assigned commodity and review Level-3 schedules and MDR dates.
- Coordinate with all relevant disciplines to gather required inputs for engineering deliverables.
- Review P&IDs and instrument index to ensure all tags are covered as per issued P&IDs.
- Maintain trackers for all engineering deliverables related to the commodity.
- Ensure high-quality engineering deliverables and provide technical support/guidance to engineers.
- Oversee procurement of all tags pertaining to the commodity.
- Maintain the status of all instruments (ordered, not ordered, on hold, etc.) and manage the HOLD register.
- Ensure checklists and check prints are properly stored and documented in project drives.
- Communicate with project leads if inputs are delayed and assist in reforecasting delivery dates.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation and Control / Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering.
- 1418 years of relevant experience in instrumentation and control engineering.
