Principal Engineer Hardware

Role specification: We are looking for a skilled Technical Architect / Principal Engineerto join our design and development team. In this role, you will contribute to the creation of cutting-edge solutions in energy management and smart metering technology.

Technical expertise required

  • Experience in analogue design, including ADC types and selection for AC signal measurement, discrete circuit design using transistors and op-amps.
  • Microcontroller expertise – selection and peripheral utilisation.
  • Power supply design – SMPS, DC / DC converters, and LDOs.
  • Exposure to Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and its application in product design.
  • PCB design with DFM considerations and EMI / EMC compliance.
  • Proficient in component selection – op-amps, microcontrollers, power switches, transistors, diodes, and capacitors.
  • Familiarity with quality tools – 8D, FMECA, CAPA, and Why-Why analysis.
  • Understanding of part and product reliability.
  • RF design experience (applicable to RF projects).
  • Working knowledge of safety and EMI / EMC standards (IEC / FCC compliance).

Key responsibilities

  • Understand and interpret product requirement specifications.
  • Support upfront technical architecture and high-level design to ensure manufacturability, serviceability, performance, reliability, cost, and feature alignment.
  • Collaborate with design engineers to develop analogue and digital circuits that meet functional, reliability, manufacturability, testability, and ergonomic requirements.
  • Maintain and enhance systems and development processes.
  • Manage projects to ensure timely delivery.
