Duties and Responsibilities
Senior technical resource may serve as technical advisor for team
- Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise
- Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high quality cost effective work by others
- Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables
- Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects
- Uses expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E package
- Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings
- Prepares technical specification sections
- Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements
- Leads complex electrical engineering projects from conception to completion
- Mentors and guides junior engineers in electrical design principles and best practices
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure integration of electrical systems with other engineering disciplines
- Develops and implements innovative solutions to improve electrical system efficiency and performance
- Ensures compliance with relevant electrical codes, standards, and regulations
- Conducts feasibility studies and risk assessments for new electrical engineering projects
- Represents the company in technical discussions with clients and stakeholders
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Master of Engineering degree (or equivalent education) in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field from an accredited college or university.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng), or Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent in the relevant field from any global organization (e.g., Institution of Electrical Engineers, UK)
- Overall 13+ years of work experience in electrical engineering, with at least 5 years in a senior or lead role.
- Extensive knowledge of electrical systems design, including power distribution, lighting, and control systems.
- Proficiency in using computer-aided design (CAD) software and electrical engineering simulation tools.
- Strong understanding of national and international electrical codes and standards (e.g., NEC, IEC).
- Demonstrated experience in managing complex electrical engineering projects from conception to completion.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to develop innovative solutions for electrical engineering challenges.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to guide and develop junior engineers.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively present technical information to diverse audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Additional certifications such as LEED AP, Energy Management Professional (EMP), or Certified Energy Manager (CEM).
- Experience with renewable energy systems and smart grid technologies.
- Knowledge of building information modeling (BIM) and its application in electrical design.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools.
