Principal / Staff Serdes Design Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Principal/Staff SerDes Design Engineer to join our team. We specialize in building next-generation, high-performance wireline transceivers and delivering industry-leading IP in advanced technology nodes.

In this role, you will design high-performance, high-speed AMS circuits used in SerDes PHYs, including evaluating various circuit topologies to meet product requirements (e.g., RX, CDR, TX, bias generators, high-speed clock generation, low-jitter distribution, phase interpolators, DLLs, VCOs) while optimizing for best-in-class power, performance, and area (PPA).

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to define specifications, implement designs, and ensure robust product performance.

Responsibilities:

Design and develop high-speed SerDes circuits, including TX, RX, and PLL components.

Perform circuit simulations and analyses using industry-standard EDA tools.

Work with layout engineers to ensure optimal physical implementation and performance.

Validate SerDes designs through lab testing, characterization, and measurement.

Debug and resolve design issues; provide technical expertise and support.

Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team knowledge sharing and best practices.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

10+ years of experience in SerDes design.

Strong understanding of analog and mixed-signal circuit design principles.

Experience with high-speed digital design and signal integrity analysis.

Hands-on experience with lab equipment for testing and characterization.

Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
