About The Role - Principal Data Scientist
In this role, you will be the foundational Data Science member of Xactly's AI Labs in India. You will work directly with global AI Labs leadership to shape the future of
Agentic AI by converting 15+ years of proprietary incentive compensation and performance data into the core intelligence that powers our next-generation AI agents. This role is ideal for a high-ownership professional who thrives in ambiguity and wants to define the data science strategy for a global innovation hub.
What You'll Do
- Build the AI Insights Layer: Analyze 15+ years of complex compensation, quota, and plan design data to identify patterns and create reusable benchmarks and scoring signals for AI agents.
- Design AI-Driven Experiences: Translate product requirements into concrete ML problem statements and prototype models for use cases such as the Plan Config Agent and Data Exploration Assistant.
- Own the End-to-End Pipeline: Perform exploratory data analysis and feature engineering on large datasets, while implementing data quality monitoring to ensure trustworthy, production-ready insights.
- Drive Product Intelligence: Design interpretable outputs like risk indicators and scorecards that make complex data understandable for finance leaders and sellers.
- Set the Strategy: Act as a technical leader to influence long-term data science strategy and help define the profile of future hires as we scale the India AI Labs team.
Must-Have Skills
What We're Looking For
- Expertise in Applied ML: 5-7+ years of hands-on experience in Data Science or advanced analytics, with a proven ability to independently define and solve complex business problems.
- Technical Proficiency: Mastery of SQL and Python (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn).
- Data Handling: Strong experience in exploratory data analysis and feature engineering on large, historical, and potentially noisy datasets.
- Communication: Ability to explain complex statistical analysis in simple terms to product, engineering, and business stakeholders.
Good-to-Have Skills
- Advanced Modeling: Exposure to time-series forecasting, behavioral modeling, or building interpretable scoring systems.
- Big Data Tools: Familiarity with PySpark or similar distributed computing frameworks.
- Domain Knowledge: Experience in incentive compensation, sales analytics, HR analytics, or financial data.
