Role Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled and hands-on
Principal Data Scientist to design, develop, and deploy AI and machine learning solutions across both in-house and client-facing projects. This is an individual contributor role that requires strong technical expertise, mentoring experience, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional and global teams.
This role involves direct interaction with clients, coordination with US-based stakeholders, and contributing to strategic AI initiatives.
Key ResponsibilitiesAI/ML Model Development
- Design, train, and evaluate machine learning and deep learning models.
- Build NLP solutions to interpret structured and unstructured regulatory and business data.
- Develop computer vision and document understanding pipelines for processing PDFs, images, and scanned content.
- Fine-tune and optimize LLMs for use cases such as compliance checks, Q&A, and automation.
Deployment & MLOps- Work closely with engineering and platform teams to deploy models into production.
- Design and maintain scalable MLOps pipelines, including:
- CI/CD workflows
- Model monitoring and versioning
- Automated training and evaluation
- Ensure reliability, security, and scalability of deployed systems.
Client Engagement & Collaboration
- Work directly with clients to understand requirements and translate them into AI-driven solutions.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and US-based teams to drive delivery.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
Research & Innovation
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in AI, generative models, and multimodal systems.
- Experiment with cutting-edge approaches such as RAG, embeddings, and LLM orchestration.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement in AI workflows.
Required Qualifications
- 4 to 5 years of strong experience in AI/ML or Data Science.
- Hands-on deployment experience in production environments (mandatory).
- Strong expertise in MLOps, including Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and model monitoring.
- Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
- Experience with NLP, transformers, embeddings, and LLM-based applications.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in startups or high-growth environments.
- Exposure to GovTech, regulatory, or compliance domains (preferred but not mandatory).
- Basic knowledge of government or public sector workflows is a plus.
- Experience in mentoring or leading small teams (4 to 5 years).
