Title: Principal Data Architect

Location: 100% Remote

Job Type: Contract

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and evolve the enterprise data architecture strategy and roadmap.

• Design scalable, secure, and high-performing data solutions that meet business requirements.

• Lead data modeling efforts for transactional, analytical, and operational systems using industry best practices.

• Architect and oversee the implementation of data pipelines and ETL processes for ingestion, transformation, and loading across cloud and on-premise environments.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders, solution architects, and engineering teams to translate business needs into robust data architectures.

• Ensure data governance, quality, security, and compliance standards are embedded in architectural solutions.

• Evaluate and recommend tools and technologies for data management, modeling, ETL, and analytics.

• Mentor data engineers and junior architects, fostering best practices and technical excellence.

Required Qualifications:

• 12 to 15 years of experience in data architecture, data modeling, and ETL development.

• Proven experience in designing and implementing enterprise-scale data solutions.

• Expertise in data modeling tools (e.g., ER/Studio, ERwin, or PowerDesigner).

• Hands-on experience with ETL tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend, DataStage, Apache NiFi) and orchestration frameworks.

• Strong understanding of database platforms (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL) and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).

• Solid understanding of data lake, data warehouse, and data mesh paradigms.

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP and associated data services (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).

• Familiarity with modern data architecture patterns such as event-driven data pipelines, streaming (Kafka), and real-time analytics.

• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
