Title: Principal Data Architect

Location: 100% Remote

Job Type: Contract

Key Responsibilities:

Define and evolve the enterprise data architecture strategy and roadmap.

Design scalable, secure, and high-performing data solutions that meet business requirements.

Lead data modeling efforts for transactional, analytical, and operational systems using industry best practices.

Architect and oversee the implementation of data pipelines and ETL processes for ingestion, transformation, and loading across cloud and on-premise environments.

Collaborate with business stakeholders, solution architects, and engineering teams to translate business needs into robust data architectures.

Ensure data governance, quality, security, and compliance standards are embedded in architectural solutions.

Evaluate and recommend tools and technologies for data management, modeling, ETL, and analytics.

Mentor data engineers and junior architects, fostering best practices and technical excellence.

Required Qualifications:

12 to 15 years of experience in data architecture, data modeling, and ETL development.

Proven experience in designing and implementing enterprise-scale data solutions.

Expertise in data modeling tools (e.g., ER/Studio, ERwin, or PowerDesigner).

Hands-on experience with ETL tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend, DataStage, Apache NiFi) and orchestration frameworks.

Strong understanding of database platforms (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL) and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).

Solid understanding of data lake, data warehouse, and data mesh paradigms.

Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP and associated data services (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).

Familiarity with modern data architecture patterns such as event-driven data pipelines, streaming (Kafka), and real-time analytics.

Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
