Role Summary

We are looking to appoint a Principal Consultant  who can play a meaningful role in strengthening and scaling S3 Global's client franchise in Mumbai and beyond. This individual will be expected to combine commercial drive, executive search depth, consulting maturity, and strong market credibility to build trusted relationships with senior clients and convert those relationships into enduring advisory and search mandates.

This is not a narrow recruitment role. It is a broader leadership position for someone who understands how to engage with clients on leadership hiring, organisation design, succession, talent strategy, people effectiveness, and business transformation, while also being able to originate and deliver high-quality executive search assignments. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of human capital consulting, a proven track record in business development, and a practical appreciation of how technology is reshaping leadership, talent, and organisational outcomes.

Key Mandate

The Principal consultant will be expected to help expand S3 Global's presence as a trusted advisory brand by building relationships with CEOs, CHROs, business leaders, promoters, founders, and boards; winning strategic mandates; and ensuring high-quality execution across executive search and human capital advisory engagements.

Key Responsibilities

1) Business Development and Client Origination

  • Build and expand a high-quality client portfolio across sectors, with a strong focus on senior stakeholder engagement.
  • Originate mandates in executive search, leadership hiring, succession, organisation effectiveness, talent advisory, and broader HR consulting.
  • Develop deep, trust-based relationships with promoters, boards, CEOs, CHROs, and business heads.
  • Convert market relationships into strategic engagements rather than transactional assignments.
  • Identify new growth avenues for the firm, including sector expansion, key account development, and cross-selling advisory solutions.

2) Executive Search Leadership

  • Lead end-to-end execution of senior and leadership hiring mandates across CXO, functional, and business-critical positions.
  • Shape search strategy, market mapping, candidate assessment, and client advisory on fit, succession depth, and leadership capability.
  • Ensure a high-touch, discreet, and senior-led search experience aligned with the S3 Global brand.
  • Drive quality, speed, and credibility in mandate closure while maintaining strong client and candidate experience.

3) Human Capital Advisory

  • Advise clients on broader people and organisation issues beyond hiring, including organisation structure, leadership capability, succession, rewards, workforce effectiveness, and culture-linked transformation.
  • Support design and delivery of human capital consulting assignments that align people strategy with business priorities.
  • Bring a practical consulting lens to client discussions, particularly in environments undergoing growth, transformation, or leadership change.
  • Work closely with internal leadership to help shape differentiated, high-value advisory offerings.

4) Technology-Enabled Advisory Mindset

  • Bring strong conceptual comfort with technology and its relevance to modern HR, talent, organisation design, and consulting delivery.
  • Participate credibly in conversations around digital transformation, HR technology, analytics, productivity, and future-of-work implications.
  • Help clients think through leadership capability in increasingly digital and technology-enabled business environments.
  • Support the evolution of the firm's advisory positioning in areas where human capital and technology intersect.

5) Firm Building and Market Positioning

  • Contribute to building S3 Global's market reputation, thought leadership, and institutional credibility.
  • Mentor internal teams and help strengthen delivery standards, commercial discipline, and consulting capability.
  • Partner with leadership on strategic growth priorities, brand visibility, and service-line integration.
  • Represent the firm with maturity, discretion, and strong judgment in all market-facing interactions.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience in business development within executive search, leadership advisory, HR consulting, or related professional services.
  • Strong track record of leading and closing executive search mandates, ideally at senior and leadership levels.
  • Meaningful exposure to human resource consulting or broader people advisory work, not just pure recruitment.
  • Strong understanding of technology and its implications for business, leadership, talent, and organisational effectiveness.
  • Credibility in engaging with senior stakeholders, including CEOs, founders, CHROs, business leaders, and boards.
  • Strong commercial instinct, relationship maturity, and ability to operate as a trusted advisor.
  • Mumbai-based or willing to be based in Mumbai.
  • Comfortable working in an entrepreneurial, high-accountability, work-from-home setup in the initial phase.
  • Diversity candidates will be strongly preferred.

Compensation 

Base salary plus best in industry profit share
