Job Summary

Evalueserve is hiring a Principal Consultant to lead strategic and operational work across mining, oil and gas, power and utilities, renewable power, and low-carbon hydrogen. The role manages multi-disciplinary teams, safeguards delivery quality, and serves as the primary client interface. Focus areas include operational excellence, growth strategy, digital enablement, and decarbonization, with clear accountability for value realization, risk management, and client satisfaction across multi-country programmes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee projects from scoping to value realization with clear plans, risks, and quality reviews.
  • Build senior stakeholder relationships and act as a trusted adviser across strategy, operations, and decarbonization.
  • Design investment cases using robust analytics, scenarios, and sensitivity analysis for leadership decisions.
  • Guide clients on emissions reduction, circularity, certification, and regulatory alignment, including CCUS, methane abatement, grid codes, and market rules.
  • Shape and deliver programmes in upstream, midstream, downstream, power systems, renewables, and hydrogen, including PPAs, offtake options, and asset integration.
  • Lead digital enablement through dashboards, predictive analytics, and decision support to improve productivity and reliability.
  • Develop sector benchmarks, cost curves, performance indices, and carbon abatement marginal cost curves to inform decisions.
  • Coordinate cross-functional work across geographies, track budgets and KPIs, and ensure benefits are realized and documented.
  • Generate proposals, frameworks, and reusable accelerators that strengthen Evalueserve's offerings and win rates.
  • Coach teams in structured problem solving, executive communication, and client management to raise delivery standards.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, geoscience, energy systems, economics, or a related field; Master's preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in consulting or industry within natural resources & energy, with delivery across at least two of mining, oil & gas, power & utilities, renewables, hydrogen, or CCUS.
  • Knowledge of mining geology, resource evaluation, and mine development, with familiarity with reporting codes such as JORC.
  • Understanding of energy market fundamentals, capital project stage-gates, reliability and maintenance, HSE, regulation, PPAs, and offtake structures.
  • Strength in financial and techno-economic modelling, including LCOE, LCOH, NPV, IRR, and scenario analysis.
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, with working knowledge of data visualisation and analytics platforms.
  • Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and manage parallel workstreams to timeline and budget.
