As a Principal Cloud / DevOps Engineer within our Enterprise Technology team, you will:
- Design, implement, and manage scalable, secure cloud infrastructure on Azure cloud
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipeline standards to automate service deployment
- Collaborate with application and development teams to streamline deployment processes
- Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, cost-efficiency, reliability, and scalability
- Design and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform
- Ensure that Cloud infrastructure adheres to industry best practices for security and compliance by implementing necessary controls and policies.
- Troubleshoot and provide ongoing support for cloud infrastructure and DevOps workflows
- Offer technical guidance to colleagues across the technology team
Must-Have Experience:
- Extensive experience in cloud management and DevOps engineering principles
- Strong expertise in cloud platforms, particularly Azure
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools and automation pipelines
- Proficient in IaC and scripting languages such as Terraform, Bicep, Azure CLI and PowerShell
- Familiarity with serverless architectures and services like Azure Functions.
- Good knowledge of containerization technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes
- Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities, with a focus on teamwork and knowledge sharing
Technical Skills:
- Advanced Azure Knowledge: Deep understanding of Azure services (e.g., Virtual Machines, Storage, Networking, App Services, Load Balancers, etc.) and their application in cloud environments.
- Cloud Networking Expertise: Strong knowledge of cloud networking concepts, including VNETs, subnets, routing, security groups, firewalls, VPNs, and DNS management.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Experience with Terraform and Bicep for managing cloud infrastructure.
- CI/CD Tools: Proficient with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
- Version Control: Skilled in GitHub or Azure DevOps source code management.
- Cloud Security: Understanding of cloud security practices and tools (e.g., identity and access management, Defender for Cloud, encryption, and vulnerability management tools).
- Monitoring & Optimization: Monitoring and logging tools such as Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Log Analytics.
- Policy: Solid understanding of creating and managing Azure policies.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
- Strong analytical mindset with problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g. Computer Science) or equivalent experience.
- At a minimum the Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate is required.
- Desirable qualifications include:
- Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Designing and Implementing Microsoft DevOps Solutions
- Azure Security Engineer Associate
- HashiCorp certifications
- GitHub certifications
