About the Role

We are seeking a Principal Architect to lead the design and evolution of enterprise-scale SRE, DevOps, and DevSecOps capabilities.

This role is designed for a highly experienced technology leader who operates as a strong individual contributor, combining deep architectural expertise with the ability to influence organization-wide engineering practices.

The ideal candidate will have built and scaled centralized engineering capabilities (CoE) and driven reliability, automation, and security transformation across large, distributed environments.

Experience

• 14–20 years of experience in technology, with 6+ years in architecture roles within SRE / DevOps / DevSecOps.
• Proven experience in building or contributing to SRE / DevOps CoE or shared platform engineering models.
• Strong ownership of reliability engineering at enterprise scale.
• Experience in RFP/RFI solutioning, architecture proposals, and technical consulting.
• Demonstrated ability to work with senior leadership and influence engineering direction.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Technical Leadership

• Define and drive architecture for SRE, DevOps, and DevSecOps platforms.
• Lead design of scalable, resilient, and secure distributed systems.
• Drive enterprise-wide platform engineering and reliability strategies.
• Review and govern complex engineering implementations and system design.

SRE / DevOps / DevSecOps Governance

Establish standards and best practices for:

• SRE: SLI / SLO / Error Budget frameworks, incident management, reliability engineering.
• DevOps: CI/CD pipelines, GitOps, automation strategy.
• DevSecOps: Security-by-design, secure SDLC, compliance integration.

Drive adoption of:

• Observability and monitoring practices.
• Automation at scale.
• Platform engineering and developer productivity frameworks.
• High availability, performance, and resilience engineering.

CoE & Transformation Enablement

• Contribute to building and scaling SRE / DevOps CoE or shared services model.
• Enable standardization across multiple engineering teams and business units.
• Drive enterprise transformation toward reliability-first and secure engineering culture.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, and Business teams for solution alignment.

Hands-on Individual Contribution (Critical)

• Act as an active architect and problem-solver, not a pure manager.
• Deep dive into system design, scalability, and production reliability challenges.
• Influence platform decisions and engineering standards.
• Mentor engineers and guide teams on complex architecture problems.

Technology Expertise

Strong hands-on experience in:

• Cloud platforms: AWS / Azure / GCP (Multicloud is a Must).
• Kubernetes, microservices, and distributed systems architecture.
• Observability, SRE practices, and incident response models.
• CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks, and GitOps.
• Platform modernization and large-scale enterprise transformation.
• Exposure to AIOps / AI-driven automation.

Preferred Certifications

• Cloud Architect Certifications (AWS / Azure / GCP – Professional).
• CKA / CKAD / CKS.
• SRE / DevOps certifications.
