Position Overview

This role owns architecture strategy and client-facing technical leadership across the company's enterprise digital platform engagements globally. The Principal Architect serves as the senior technical authority in client relationships — translating business goals into scalable, cloud-native platform blueprints while governing delivery quality across engineering teams. The impact is direct: architectural decisions made here shape platform reliability, AI-driven operational intelligence, and long-term scalability for enterprise clients across 25+ countries.

Role & Responsibilities

• Lead client-facing architecture engagements — own platform discovery, solution blueprinting, and architectural governance from pre-sales through delivery.
• Architect event-driven, API-first, microservices-based multi-tenant platforms on AWS, ensuring scalability, resilience, and secure multi-tenancy for enterprise clients.
• Define and enforce DevOps transformation roadmaps including CI/CD pipeline design, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), and shift-left security integration across client environments.
• Establish AI/ML-driven frameworks for predictive analytics, automated remediation, and operational intelligence within client observability stacks.
• Own networking architecture decisions — VPC design, service mesh, load balancing, and secure hybrid/multi-cloud connectivity — across diverse client infrastructure landscapes.
• Define performance engineering principles including capacity planning, latency budgets, and SLO/SLA frameworks for high-traffic client platforms.
• Mentor the company's technical architects and senior engineers through design reviews, RFCs, and architectural standards; represent the company's technical brand in client executive conversations.

Must Have Criteria

• 10+ years in software, cloud, or platform architecture with at least 5 years in a principal or staff-level role that included direct client or stakeholder-facing architecture ownership.
• Hands-on expertise architecting multi-tenant, distributed, microservices-based systems on AWS (EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, RDS, VPC) at production scale (10K+ req/s or equivalent).
• Proficiency in Kubernetes, container orchestration, and service mesh technologies (Istio or Linkerd) for high-availability, multi-tenant deployments.
• Demonstrated experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and enterprise-scale CI/CD pipeline design with integrated security controls.
• Proven track record governing high-traffic digital platforms with measurable SLO/SLA outcomes and documented performance improvements.
• Hands-on experience integrating AI/ML or AIOps tooling (anomaly detection, predictive scaling, or intelligent alerting) into platform observability pipelines.
• Deep expertise in cloud networking — VPC design, PrivateLink, WAF, BGP routing, and zero-trust security models across hybrid or multi-cloud environments.

Nice to Have

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional certification.
• Experience with Azure or GCP in hybrid or multi-cloud enterprise client contexts.
• Prior architecture leadership within a digital transformation consultancy or technology services firm with direct P&L or pre-sales exposure.
• FinOps experience — cloud cost attribution, reserved capacity optimization, and unit economics at platform level for client engagements.
• Familiarity with platform engineering for regulated industries (BFSI, healthcare, or retail) with compliance and data residency constraints.
