Phenom is hiring a Principal, Applied AI Alliances to own and grow the Phenom Marketplace — our hub for partnerships across the HR tech ecosystem. This is a revenue-generating role: you will carry a target tied to Marketplace fees and revenue share, and you will have end-to-end ownership of how the Marketplace operates, who is on it, and where it goes next.
The Marketplace is at an inflection point. We are moving from traditional integrations toward agentic partnerships — where Phenom and our partners interoperate through protocols like A2A (Agent-to-Agent) and MCP (Model Context Protocol). You will be at the front of that shift, helping shape what an AI-native partner ecosystem looks like.
This is a builder's role. You will not inherit a playbook — you will write one.
What You'll Do
- Own the Phenom Marketplace as a business. Carry a revenue target driven by Marketplace fees and revenue share with partners, and build the strategy and motions to hit it.
- Run day-to-day operations. Manage partner contracts, onboard and support existing partners, and keep the Marketplace site itself up to date — listings, content, and partner pages.
- Recruit and add new partners. Identify gaps in the ecosystem, source new partners, negotiate terms, and bring them to launch.
- Connect partners to Phenom's go-to-market. Make warm introductions between our sales team and partners where there is a clear customer win, and help quarterback those deals.
- Lead the Marketplace's evolution toward agentic partnerships. Define what great looks like for A2A- and MCP-based integrations, work with partners and our internal product and engineering teams to bring them to life, and tell that story externally.
- Be the face of the Marketplace. Represent it internally across sales, product, engineering, and marketing, and externally to partners, customers, and the broader ecosystem.
What You've Done
- 6+ years of experience in partnerships, alliances, business development, ecosystem, or a related revenue-generating role — ideally with some exposure to SaaS, HR tech, or AI.
- A genuine builder. You are energized by ambiguity, you do not wait to be told what to do, and you would rather ship something rough and improve it than wait for perfect.
- Revenue mindset. You have owned a number before, or you are hungry to. You understand how partner ecosystems generate revenue and you think commercially.
- Strong communication. You can write a clean partner email, run a crisp partner QBR, brief an executive in five minutes, and pitch the Marketplace on stage.
- Strong organization. You can run dozens of partner relationships in parallel without dropping balls — contracts, renewals, launches, intros, all of it.
- Familiarity with the AI and agentic landscape. You do not need to write code, but you should be conversant in where the field is going — agents, A2A, MCP, and how AI changes the way software products integrate with each other.
- Based in Hyderabad. Comfortable working in-office full-time at our Hyderabad, India location.
- Flexible with hours. Able to overlap with US East Coast working hours — available most days until about 2:00 PM US ET.
