This is ahighimpact, dynamic, and technical rolewhere you will help shape customer outcomes, influence new product capabilities, and represent Cadence in critical deployment engagements.
Role Overview
As aPrincipal Application Engineer, you will lead product evaluations, deliver deep technical guidance on characterization methodologies, and support customers working at cuttingedge technology nodes. You will help translate customer requirements into product direction by collaborating closely with the R&D and product teams. You will also play a key leadership role within the team bymentoring junior engineers, guiding them on technical problemsolving, methodology, and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadtechnical evaluations, proofsofconcept, and competitive positioning for the Liberate Characterization Suite.
- Work closely withR&D and product managementto provide realworld feedback and drive feature enhancements.
- Act as atrusted technical advisorto customers, helping them deploy advanced characterization and modeling flows.
- Debug complex customer issues and deliver actionable solutions.
- Mentor and guide junior team members, helping build internal expertise and technical depth.
- Deliver customer trainings, workshops, and technical presentations.
- Partner with Product team and sales to support business growth and strategic engagements.
Experience and Technical Skills Required
- 610 years of industry experiencein IP characterization and deep Liberty modeling expertise.
- Proven ability tomentor, guide, and support junior engineers.
- Thorough understanding ofLiberty formats(NLDM, CCS, ECSM, LVF, EM, Aging, etc.).
- Handson experience performingcharacterization using industrystandard tools like Liberate/Primelib.
- Experience withindustrystandard circuit simulators(Spectre, HSPICE, etc.).
- Strong understanding ofCMOS fundamentals, integrated circuit behaviour, and advanced nodes (5nm, 3nm).
- Good knowledge ofprocess variation,statistical characterization, and variationaware modeling.
- Strong problemsolving skills for debugging customer issues.
- Scripting and automation proficiency inTCL, Python, and shell scripting.
