Job Title: Principal u2013 AI/ML Engineer
u00A0
As a Principal/Sr Principal at R4 level, you will lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced AI/ML models and data solutions that drive strategic decision-making and operational efficiency across Lillyu2019s global services. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, secure, and compliant products, while mentoring junior and senior AI/ML engineers and contributing to innovation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
u00A0
AI/ML Model Development: Build, train, and optimise models for predictive analytics, NLP, recommendation systems, and GenAI use cases.
Designs: Ability to break down moderately complex problems to implement for increased business impact.
Extracting insights from data and solving business problems using statistical analysis and ML.
Data Engineering: Design and maintain robust data pipelines using AWS and modern lakehouse architecture.
System Design & Integration: Lead the system design efforts and collaborate with architects & software engineers to integrate models into enterprise platforms.
Development: Develop solutions with hands on development while collaborating with other peers and extended teams.
Automation & DevOps: Implement CI/CD pipelines, automate workflows, and ensure model monitoring and retraining.
Validation & Compliance: Author validation documents and ensure adherence to AI/ML system validation expectations.
Innovation & Prototyping: Lead POCs and contribute to AI innovation spikes, including internal tools like Cortex.
Mentorship & Collaboration: Guide junior engineers and collaborate with global business and IT teams.
Continuous Improvements: Drives and enforces the team process improvements, ensuring others are brought along in understanding the benefits and tradeoffs.

Basic Qualifications:
M.S. in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering with at least 8 years of hands on Design, Develop & Deployment experience (excluding internships) in the industry OR
B.S. in one of the above fields with 10+ years of hands on Design, Develop & Deployment experience (excluding internships) in the industry, including SME experience in AI/ML engineering space.
Deep understanding of machine learning models and experience with deploying models to solve business problems.
Experience with GenAI and NLP applications.
Strong proficiency in Python, R, Java experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn.

Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and data lakehouse architecture.
Excellent communication skills, with an strong passion for data storytelling.
Ability to communicate complex technical problems to non-technical audiences.

Experience in delivering projects involving AI/ML frameworks and regulatory compliance.
Familiarity with AI ethics, bias mitigation, and validation protocols for regulated systems.
Expertise in data modelling, data visualization, statistical methods, and algorithm optimisation
