About the Role

Apeejay School Saket is seeking dynamic, passionate, and experienced academic leaders for the position of Primary / Pre-Primary In charge. The role requires strong pedagogical understanding, effective administrative and leadership skills, and the ability to create a joyful, safe, and child-centric learning environment aligned with CBSE, NEP 2020, and contemporary educational practices. The candidate will work closely with the Principal/Vice Principal in ensuring academic excellence, smooth operations, effective parent partnership, and holistic development of students.

Responsibilities

Academic Leadership

  • Implement and monitor scholastic and co-scholastic curriculum effectively.
  • Ensure experiential, competency-based, and joyful learning practices in classrooms.
  • Monitor lesson planning, assessments, worksheets, notebooks, and academic records.
  • Conduct classroom observations and provide constructive feedback to teachers.
  • Ensure differentiated learning through enrichment and remedial support.
  • Promote foundational literacy, numeracy, thematic learning, and activity-based pedagogy.

Staff Supervision & Development

  • Mentor and guide teachers for continuous professional growth.
  • Organize staff meetings, orientation sessions, and in-service training workshops.
  • Facilitate collaborative planning and sharing of best teaching practices.
  • Support induction and integration of new staff members.

Student Welfare & Discipline

  • Ensure a safe, secure, inclusive, and nurturing environment for all students.
  • Monitor student discipline, behaviour management, and emotional well-being.
  • Identify learners requiring academic or behavioural support and plan interventions.
  • Oversee safe arrival, dispersal, transport supervision, and child protection practices.

Parent Partnership & Communication

  • Build strong parent-school relationships through effective communication.
  • Organize PTMs, orientation programmes, and parent engagement initiatives.
  • Address parent concerns with empathy, professionalism, and solution-oriented approaches.
  • Support parents regarding school processes and digital platforms.

Planning & Administration

  • Prepare timetables, activity planners, and supervision schedules.
  • Coordinate school events, celebrations, assemblies, excursions, camps, and competitions.
  • Maintain academic records, inventories, and departmental documentation.
  • Ensure proper upkeep of classrooms, display boards, resources, and learning spaces.
  • Assist in budgeting, procurement, and operational planning of the wing.

School Development & Outreach

  • Promote the vision, values, and culture of the school.
  • Support outreach programmes, feeder school networking, and admissions processes.
  • Stay updated with NEP, CBSE guidelines, and emerging educational practices.
  • Contribute to institutional growth, innovation, and brand building initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Postgraduate with B.Ed. and NTT/ECCE qualification.

Required Skills

  • Strong understanding of CBSE curriculum, NEP 2020, and Early Childhood Education practices, Jolly phonics, Thematic curriculum.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Proven leadership and team management abilities.
  • Proficiency in technology-enabled teaching and school ERP systems.
  • Passion for working with children and fostering joyful learning environments.
