We are looking for Homeroom Teachers for Grades 1 to 4 for the Cambridge curriculum.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and nurturing Primary Homeroom Teacher to guide Grade 1 to Grade 4 students in their academic, social, and emotional development. The Homeroom Teacher will serve as the primary point of contact for students, creating a safe, structured, and stimulating classroom environment. This role involves delivering core subjects, monitoring overall student progress, and fostering a positive and inclusive classroom culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary teacher for the assigned class, overseeing academic and social-emotional development.
- Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons across multiple subjects according to the school curriculum.
- Maintain a structured and positive classroom environment that encourages participation, creativity, and critical thinking.
- Assess, monitor, and document student progress in academic, social, and behavioral areas, providing constructive feedback.
- Identify individual learning needs and implement strategies to support students growth.
- Foster a culture of respect, empathy, collaboration, and responsibility in the classroom.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress, achievements, and areas for development.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning, school initiatives, and interdisciplinary projects.
- Participate in school events, extracurricular activities, staff meetings, and professional development programs.
- Ensure classroom management, safety, and compliance with school policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field.
- Teaching certification (B.Ed., D.Ed., or equivalent) is required.
Experience:
- Minimum 12 years of teaching experience at the primary school level.
- Experience managing a classroom as a homeroom teacher is preferred.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of primary-level curriculum across multiple subjects.
- Excellent classroom management, organizational, and planning skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
- Proficiency in integrating educational technology into lessons.
- Ability to foster social-emotional learning and holistic development.
