Job Summary
The Pricing Executive will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing pricing for KSM Logistics services (air, sea, road, etc.). The role involves working closely with sales, operations, finance, and vendor/carrier partners to ensure competitive rates, maximize profitability, and respond to market trends. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, excellent negotiation ability, and a good understanding of international logistics and freight forwarding.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit freight quotations (sea, air, road) for export & import shipments.
- Source rates from carriers, shipping lines, NVOCCs, forwarding agents, transporters, and other service providers.
- Negotiate rates (freight, surcharges, handling, inland transport, etc.) with carriers and partners to ensure competitive cost structures.
- Maintain and update a pricing database/tariff/rate sheet for various shipping lanes, equipment types (FCL, LCL, Reefer, special equipment), and service offerings.
- Monitor market trends (fuel, surcharges, regulatory changes, foreign exchange, competitor rates) and recommend pricing strategy adjustments.
- Collaborate with sales team to ensure quotations are accurate, timely, and meet customer requirements.
- Follow up on quotations and feed insights into win/loss analysis to improve conversion.
- Coordinate with operations/CHA/customs teams to ensure that cost inputs (e.g. documentation, handling, customs) are factored in pricing.
- Ensure margin protection: cost calculations must include all relevant costs so that quoted prices don't erode profitability.
- Generate reports and dashboards on pricing performance, quotation pipeline, margin trends, competitor benchmarking.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, trade regulations, and carrier agreements.
- Assist in development of promotional or special pricing when required (e.g. to win tenders or volume business).
