Role Overview
The Presales IMS Services professional at Orient Technologies will support sales and government/enterprise bid teams by designing, positioning, and proposing Infrastructure Managed Services (IMS) solutions. The role requires strong technical solutioning, RFP management, costing, and customer-facing capabilities aligned with Orient's infrastructure, data center, network, EUC, and ITSM service offerings.
Key Responsibilities
Presales & Solution Design
- Work closely with Sales, Government Sales, and Enterprise teams to understand customer requirements
- Design end-to-end IMS solutions including:
- Data Center Operations & Facility Management
- Network Operations (LAN / WAN / Wi-Fi / Security Devices)
- Server & Storage Management
- End User Computing (EUC) & Field Support
- Service Desk, NOC & ITSM Operations
- Backup, DR & Business Continuity (on-prem / hybrid, non-cloud focused)
- Define scope of work, service architecture, SLAs, KPIs, transition and steady-state models
RFP / RFQ / Tender Support
- Lead and support RFP / RFQ / Government & PSU tenders
- Prepare:
- Technical proposals & solution documents
- Compliance matrices and response mapping
- Architecture diagrams, service workflows
- BOQ/BOM, effort estimation, and commercials input
- Coordinate with OEMs (Cisco, HPE, Dell, Lenovo, etc.) and internal teams for inputs
Commercial & Costing Support
- Prepare resource models, effort estimation, and IMS pricing
- Support margin optimization and cost rationalization
- Ensure proposals are aligned with Orient's delivery capability and financial goals
Customer Interaction
- Participate in customer meetings, technical discussions, and solution presentations
- Conduct solution walkthroughs, clarifications, and bid defense sessions
- Act as a technical SME during negotiations and finalization stages
Internal Collaboration & Handover
- Collaborate with Delivery, Operations, PMO, Finance, and OEM teams
- Support transition planning and seamless handover from presales to delivery
- Contribute to creation and enhancement of IMS service catalogues and standard offerings
Skills & Competencies
Technical Expertise
- Strong understanding of IT Infrastructure & IMS services
- Hands-on knowledge of:
- Servers (Windows / Linux)
- Networking (Routing, Switching, Firewalls)
- Storage, Backup & DR solutions
- EUC & Service Desk operations
- ITIL-based ITSM processes (Incident, Change, Problem, Asset Management)
- Exposure to OEM solutions: Cisco, HPE, Dell, Lenovo, NetApp, etc.
Presales & Business Skills
- Proven experience in SI Presales & Bid Management
- Strong documentation, presentation, and solutioning skills
- Ability to translate technical requirements into commercially viable solutions
Soft Skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving
- Ability to work under tight bid timelines and pressure
Preferred Qualifications
- ITIL Foundation / Intermediate certification
- OEM certifications (Cisco, HPE, Dell, etc.)
- Exposure to managed services transitions and steady-state operations
