Senior Pre-sales Engineer – Job Description
Overview
We are seeking a Senior Pre-Sales Engineer to act as the technical bridge between sales and product teams. This role drives technical success across the sales cycle, from discovery to onboarding, by aligning solutions with business and technical requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Sales Support
- Partner with sales from prospecting through onboarding
- Lead technical discovery to identify requirements and challenges
- Design and deliver tailored solution demos and POCs
- Apply deep expertise in VOD and live streaming technologies
- Respond to RFPs/RFIs with clear, compelling technical input
Sales Enablement
- Develop and maintain technical sales materials and demo assets
- Train sales teams on product capabilities and use cases
- Share updates on product roadmap and new features
- Build tools and processes to improve sales efficiency
Customer Engagement
- Deliver impactful presentations to technical and business audiences
- Run workshops and technical deep-dives
- Support proposal development and contract discussions
- Ensure smooth onboarding post-sale
Qualifications
Required
- 5+ years in a technical presales role (video streaming/CDN preferred)
- Strong expertise in VOD and live streaming workflows
- Hands-on ability to run and troubleshoot live streams during POCs
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Experience managing multiple opportunities across the sales cycle
- Comfortable working across time zones
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience
Preferred
- Cloud infrastructure and deployment experience
- Knowledge of DRM and content protection
- Understanding of encoding/transcoding workflows
- API integration experience
- Networking fundamentals related to content delivery
