Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site position for a Precast Quantity Surveyor, located in Oragadam. In this role, the Precast Quantity Surveyor will be tasked with managing project costs from the initial estimate to project completion. Responsibilities include preparing Bills of Quantities (BOQ), reviewing drawing, estimating precast elements, coordination with production team, extracting quantities, monitoring and controlling costs, cost planning, and generating detailed cost reports. The selected candidate will work closely with project teams to ensure budgetary objectives are met without compromising on quality or compliance, ensuring accurate cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications
Key Responsibilities:
1. Quantity Take-Off & Measurement
Extract quantities from architectural, structural, and precast shop drawings.
Prepare detailed BOQ for precast elements such as wall panels, slabs, beams, columns, staircases, faade elements, UHPC panels, etc.
Conduct rebar quantity takeoffs, embedment counts, lifting anchor quantities, and cast-in items.
Measure mould reuse cycles, casting area requirements, and production quantities.
2. Cost Estimation & Budgeting
Prepare material, labour, and production cost estimates for tenders and ongoing projects.
Estimate cost of concrete mix, reinforcement, prestressing strands, inserts, formwork, transportation, erection, and finishing works.
Prepare rate analyses and update cost databases.
3. Contract Management
Review contracts, project specifications, drawings, and BOQs for compliance.
Identify variations, additional works, and scope deviations.
Prepare and submit claims, VO documentation, and contractual letters.
Support contract negotiations with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
4. Production & Site Coordination
Work closely with precast production, moulding, reinforcement, and quality teams to match quantities with production outputs.
Track and verify daily production quantities, lifting schedules, and site deliveries.
Assist planning teams in sequencing of precast elements and optimizing production throughput.
5. Cost Control & Reporting
Maintain cost vs. budget tracking for materials, labour, overheads, transportation, and installation.
Monitor and report on wastage control (concrete, rebar, mould wear).
Prepare weekly/monthly quantity and cost reports.
6. Documentation & Quality
Ensure all take-offs and estimates are documented, traceable, and based on approved drawings.
Maintain updated measurement sheets, BOQs, tender logs, variation registers, and cost control sheets.
Support preparation of final accounts and project closeout documentation.
