Pre-Sales Engineer Home Automation & AV Systems

Position Overview

The Pre-Sales Engineer is responsible for understanding client requirements, designing

smart home solutions, preparing technical proposals, and supporting the sales team

during the sales process.

This role requires strong technical knowledge of home automation systems, networking, AV

solutions, and system integration.

Key Responsibilities

1. Client Requirement Analysis

Discuss Sales & Project Team to understand project requirements.

Analyse automation, AV, networking, security, and lighting control needs.

Conduct technical assessments.

Suggest suitable solutions based on client budget and project scale.

2. System Design & Solution Development

Design smart home and AV system architecture.

Prepare system layouts and automation schematics.

Create equipment BOQ (Bill of Quantities).

Select appropriate products such as:

o Lighting control systems (KNX / Casambi etc.)

o Home theater systems

o Multi-room audio

o Networking solutions

o CCTV and access control.

o Integration

3. Proposal & Documentation Preparation

Prepare technical proposals and solution presentations.

Develop system diagrams and concept drawings.

Prepare cost estimates and pricing with the sales team.

Create project scope documents.

4. Sales Support

Support the sales team during client presentations.

Explain technical solutions to clients.

Participate in product demonstrations .

Address client, Sales technical queries.

5. Coordination with Engineering Team

Coordinate with project engineers for technical feasibility.

Ensure design compatibility with site conditions.

Provide technical guidance during project handover to execution team.

Experience

25 years experience in Home Automation / AV Integration / Smart Building

Systems.

Required Skills

Technical Skills

Knowledge of Home Automation Systems (KNX, Casambi, RTI, etc.)

Understanding of Audio Video systems and Home Theater

Basic networking knowledge (routers, switches, Wi-Fi systems)

Work on AutoCAD drawings, Microsoft Visio & Other design software.

Understanding of structured cabling systems

EducationalQualification

bachelor's degree in Electronics / Electrical / IT / Automation Engineering

Additional certifications in KNX / AV / Networking are preferred.
