Practice Lead – Catastrophe Modelling & Exposure Management

Location: Global / India (Noida, Gurgaon, Bengaluru, Pune, Kolkata)

Role Overview

A senior leadership role responsible for shaping, architecting, and delivering client-centric catastrophe modelling and exposure management solutions. The incumbent will own solution strategy, drive transformation initiatives, and collaborate across functions to translate client priorities into scalable, market-ready offerings.

Key Responsibilities

1. Transformation & Strategic Consulting

  • Advise clients on catastrophe and exposure transformation roadmaps, target operating models, and capability enhancement initiatives.
  • Shape opportunities, define solution scope, and establish measurable outcomes aligned with business objectives.
  • Develop forward-looking solutions addressing emerging perils, evolving regulatory requirements, and changing market dynamics.

2. Client Engagement & Solution Development

  • Lead the design and deployment of catastrophe modelling and exposure management solutions for insurance, reinsurance, and broking organizations.
  • Act as a business architect, partnering with clients to envision and deliver technology-enabled outcomes.
  • Own the end-to-end solution lifecycle, from problem definition through deployment planning.
  • Lead RFP responses, proposals, client presentations, and solution demonstrations.
  • Ensure solutions are scalable, robust, and aligned with client goals and business needs.

3. Techno-Functional & Domain Leadership

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in catastrophe modelling and exposure management.
  • Bridge business, catastrophe modelling, and technology teams to drive effective solution design and implementation.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, modelling advancements, emerging risks, and technology innovations to strengthen practice offerings.

4. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with delivery, process excellence, digital, analytics, and data teams to develop end-to-end solutions.
  • Drive standardization and optimization of catastrophe modelling and exposure management processes.
  • Integrate analytics, automation, and AI capabilities into solution frameworks and reusable assets.

5. Innovation & Continuous Improvement

  • Champion innovation through modern platforms, tools, and engineering practices.
  • Develop and scale reusable assets, accelerators, and frameworks that improve efficiency and speed-to-value.
  • Continuously enhance solution methodologies, governance practices, and stakeholder engagement models.

Key Skills & Competencies

Domain Expertise

  • Deep expertise in catastrophe modelling and exposure management within the insurance, reinsurance, or broking sectors.
  • Strong ability to translate complex risk and business challenges into practical, scalable solutions.
  • Understanding of analytics, automation, AI/ML, and digital technologies within the Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance domain.
  • Working knowledge of cloud technologies, APIs, data platforms, and modern integration architectures.

Solutioning & Consulting

  • Proven experience in solution architecture, consulting, pre-sales, and proposal management.
  • Strong client-facing communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to articulate business value and create compelling solution narratives for executive audiences.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing capabilities across business and technology teams.
  • Demonstrated experience leading global, cross-functional, and distributed teams.
  • Proven ability to drive large-scale transformation initiatives and strategic programs.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Business, Information Technology, Analytics, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of experience in consulting, solutioning, transformation, or advisory roles.
  • Minimum 7+ years of dedicated experience in catastrophe modelling and exposure management.
  • Experience working with global clients and multi-geography teams.
  • Strong track record of leading client-facing engagements and enterprise transformation programs.
