Detailed Responsibilities
• Strategic Planning & Governance - Performs analysis of customer demand, sales forecasts and historical material usage to develop and execute build to order and build to forecast plans. Coordinate with cross-functional business teams to develop best cost strategy for production planning to support customer demand.
• Define and implement planning strategies, policies, and SOPs aligned with business objectives.
• Establishes and manages production scheduling activities by monitoring material inventories, tracking progress of production and reviewing factors that affect schedules.
• Partner with leadership on growth, expansion, and new product introduction (NPI) planning.
• Oversee demand forecasting using statistical models and market intelligence.
• Translate demand into master production schedules (MPS) and supply plans.
• Ensure robust scenario planning for demand volatility, supply disruptions, and constraints.
• Manage planning horizons (short, medium, long term) effectively.
• Lead production planning and scheduling to meet delivery commitments.
• Optimize MRP to ensure timely availability of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
• Maintain optimal inventory norms (RM, WIP, FG) while minimizing obsolescence and excess.
• Coordinate with Supply chain, manufacturing, QA, and logistics teams.
• Own planning-related KPIs:
o Forecast accuracy & bias
o Inventory turns
o Schedule adherence
o Capacity utilization
• Create dashboards and periodic reviews for leadership.
• Own and enhance ERP planning systems (SAP)
• Drive automation, analytics, and planning digitization initiatives.
• Ensure data integrity, master data governance, and planning discipline.
• Define roles, skill requirements, and succession plans.
• Foster cross-functional collaboration and planning maturity.
Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering / Supply Chain / Operations (MBA preferred).
• 12–18+ years of experience in Production planning & control or operations planning.
• At least 5–7 years in a senior planning /leadership role.
• Experience in complex manufacturing environments (multi-plant / multi-SKU).
