BI Developer Sr

Shift Timings: 9AM-5PM IST

Job Summary:

The Senior Developer designs, builds, and maintains dataset and reporting with Power BI to support client's business intelligence and analytics platform. This role owns end-to-end Power BI reporting delivery-from requirements through production support-ensuring solutions meet architectural standards for reliability, performance, and security. The position works closely with the BI Lead, Project Manager, System Analyst, and Business (Power user of Power BI) and contributes to continuous improvement of the technical reporting solution and practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain end-to-end Power BI solutions based on requirements agreed with the BI Project Manager and System Analyst.
• Develop Power BI semantic model and report using dimensional modeling - star schema integrate multiple data sources from Datamart and use live connect or import method and Dataflow.
• Ensure scalability, security, and performance through monitoring, tuning, and optimization as semantic model/ dataset grow manage performance via performance analyzer in queries level and in workspace level evaluate and adopt improvements (e.g., Microsoft Fabric) where relevant.
• Follow client delivery and change management processes: participate in Scrum ceremonies, contribute to reporting solution reviews, and present significant changes to CAB if required partner with Power users to work with them to govern datasets and maintain deployment checklists and reporting metrics.
• Collaborate across departments to deliver high-quality Data visualization reporting solutions take strong ownership of scope, timelines, and quality, and align delivery with the BI Project Manager.
• Stay current on latest technologies stack related to Reporting area (e.g., Fabric IQ, Databricks, Snowflake) and share recommendations to improve the BI platform maintain clear documentation and provide ongoing support to enhance Reporting semantic models and Power BI solutions efficiency.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Business Intelligence development, with a strong focus on Power BI.

Certifications:

• Relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate, Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate) are highly desirable.

Technical Skills:

• Proficient in Power BI, including experience with Power Query, DAX, and Power BI Report Server.
• Strong understanding of data modeling concepts, especially dimensional modeling and star schema design.
• Experience integrating multiple data sources, including Datamarts, and utilizing both live connections and import methods.
• Familiarity with performance tuning and optimization techniques in Power BI experience with performance analyzer tools.
• Knowledge of Azure services and cloud-based solutions, including Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, and Snowflake.
• Experience with database management and SQL (Structured Query Language) for data extraction and transformation.
