PowerApps Senior Software Engineer (Canvas Apps – SSE)
Role Overview
We are looking for a
PowerApps Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and optimize highly responsive, usercentric
Canvas Apps on the
Microsoft Power Platform. This role is ideal for engineers with strong
Power Fx expertise, deep understanding of
Canvas app performance, and the ability to blend
lowcode with procode for enterprisegrade solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop complex Canvas Apps with rich user experiences and responsive layouts
- Translate business requirements into intuitive UI/UX using:
- Power Fx formulas
- Component libraries
- Reusable patterns
- Lead performance optimization initiatives, including:
- Delegation strategies
- Data shaping and caching
- App startup and screen load optimization
- Build advanced logic using:
- Power Fx
- Power Automate (cloud flows with robust error handling)
- Integrate Canvas Apps with:
- Dataverse
- SharePoint
- SQL
- REST APIs (via custom connectors)
- Extend lowcode solutions with procode:
- Azure Functions
- Custom connectors
- Plugins (C#) where required
- Implement security best practices:
- Role-based access
- Environment-level governance
- Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies
- Lead code reviews for Canvas apps and enforce best practices
- Mentor junior developers on Canvas app design, performance, and maintainability
- Collaborate closely with UX designers, architects, and business stakeholders
- Support production deployments and troubleshoot performance or data issues
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 4+ years of hands-on Power Apps Canvas App development
- Deep expertise in:
- Power Fx (complex formulas, collections, context variables)
- Responsive layout techniques (containers, auto-height, scaling)
- Component libraries and reuse
- Strong experience with:
- Power Automate (complex flows, error handling, retries)
- Dataverse integration from Canvas Apps
- Solid understanding of:
- Delegation limits and strategies
- Canvas app performance tuning
- App lifecycle management and versioning
- Experience with REST APIs and custom connectors
- Strong debugging and problemsolving skills
Nice to Have
- Experience with PCF controls for advanced UI scenarios
- Exposure to Modeldriven apps (for hybrid solutions)
- Azure experience (Functions, API Management. Webjobs)
- Power Platform certifications:
- PL400 (Developer)
- PL200 (Functional Consultant)
- Experience designing apps for large user bases or mobile-first scenarios
