· Independently plan, scope, and execute Insulation Coordination studies per IEC 60071-1/2 and IEEE 1313 for AIS/GIS substations, EHV/UHV transmission lines, and HVDC schemes.
· Build, validate, and benchmark detailed PSCAD/EMTDC models — frequency-dependent line/cable models, non-linear transformer saturation, surge arrester energy models, circuit breaker pre-strike/restrike, and CVT/PT representations.
· Perform statistical switching, temporary, and lightning overvoltage studies; size surge arresters (rating and energy duty); and specify BIL/SIL withstand levels and clearances.
· Execute related EMT studies — TRV, sub-synchronous resonance, ferro resonance, harmonic propagation, control interaction, and energisation/de-energisation studies.
· Review study reports and PSCAD models prepared by junior engineers; act as the technical reviewer/approver for deliverables within the team.
· Engage directly with clients, OEMs, and consultants — clarify study scope, present interim findings, and defend study assumptions and conclusions in technical meetings.
· Mentor graduate engineers on PSCAD modelling, study methodology, and report writing; contribute to internal training and knowledge-base development.
· Support proposals and bids with effort estimates, scope definition, and technical approach notes.
· Coordinate with design, protection, and project teams to translate study outcomes into equipment specifications and project documentation.
