Who are we looking for

We are looking for an experienced Power Sector Consultant with 5+ years of experience in the Indian power distribution sector (DISCOMs) for an upcoming engagement. Our client is a leading global consulting firm supporting a public sector power utility in India on a high-impact transformation program focused on driving operational and financial efficiency across key areas of the utility's business.

As part of this engagement, you will play a critical role in shaping and delivering a capital optimisation strategy, working closely with senior stakeholders to improve planning, procurement, and loss reduction outcomes. This is an opportunity to contribute to a large-scale transformation within India's power distribution sector and drive measurable impact.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Support the design and execution of a capital optimisation plan for the utility
  • Work closely with client stakeholders across engineering, planning, and operations teams
  • Analyse existing capital expenditure and network plans to identify efficiency opportunities
  • Contribute to initiatives around power procurement and loss reduction
  • Build data-driven insights and models to support decision-making
  • Collaborate with broader consulting teams to deliver project milestones and outcomes

Skills & Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in the power sector, with a strong focus on DISCOMs in India
  • Experience in capital planning, network planning, or engineering roles within utilities
  • Strong understanding of power distribution operations and planning processes
  • Exposure to power procurement or loss reduction initiatives is an added advantage
  • Ability to work with data and derive actionable insights for operational improvement
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field; advanced qualifications are a plus

Duration: 6 months (initial contract), with possibility of extension. Full-time, contractual engagement based out of Greater Noida. Travel and accommodation support provided for weekly travel.
