Purpose And Scope

The Power Platform Administrator is a core chapter capability role responsible for the health, governance, and sustainability of the Power Platform while enabling value teams to deliver business outcomes efficiently.

This role sits within the Microsoft Dev Chapter and is embedded into Power Platform value team , bringing consistent platform standards, governance, and operational excellence across the organization.

Platform Ownership

  • Stability, security, and scalability of the Power Platform
  • Consistent administration and governance across all environments
  • Sustainable growth of the platform aligned to enterprise standards

Value Enablement

  • Removing platform friction for value teams
  • Enabling faster delivery without compromising compliance
  • Providing guardrails

Cost & Risk Management

  • Responsible use of licenses, premium capabilities, Dataverse capacity and copilot credits.
  • Prevention of cost leakage and unmanaged risk
  • Transparency of platform usage and consumption

Responsibilities And Accountabilities

  • Platform Administration & Operations
  • Own administration of Power Platform environments across the enterprise
  • Manage environment lifecycle (Dev, Test, UAT, Prod, ALM, personal environments)
  • Monitor platform health, limits, and operational risks
  • Act as escalation point for complex platform issues.
  • Governance, Security & Standards
  • Define and enforce DLP policies and connector governance
  • Manage access models, roles, and permissions
  • Establish and maintain platform standards, guardrails, and best practices
  • Ensure alignment with enterprise security, compliance, and audit requirements
  • ALM & Platform Reliability
  • Define and maintain Power Platform ALM standards
  • Own deployment pipelines and CI/CD enablement (Platform native and Azure DevOps)
  • Support managed/unmanaged solution strategies
  • Ensure predictable, repeatable deployments across environments
  • Licensing, Cost & Consumption Management
  • Work on Power Platform licensing governance and allocation strategy
  • Review and guide license usage across value teams
  • Monitor Dataverse capacity, flow runs, premium connector usage and copilot credits usage.
  • Identify optimization opportunities and reclaim unused licenses
  • Enable chargeback insights where applicable, supporting the internal cost model.
  • Adoption, Insights & Continuous Improvement
  • Operate and evolve the Power Platform CoE Toolkit
  • Track adoption, usage, and platform maturity metrics
  • Provide insights to value team captain and chapter lead
  • Drive continuous improvement of platform practices and developer experience

Required Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant fields, e.g., Computer Science, Data Science
  • 6+ years of expertise in Power Platform administration at enterprise level
  • Demonstrated experience of quick learning and being able to train others in new features and tools.
  • Experience supporting multiple teams in parallel
  • Proven ability to operate in agile delivery model.
  • Knowledge of Agile and DevOps ways of working. Experience in using Azure DevOps for continuous integration, continuous delivery, pipelines, and version control.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with development, operations, security teams, business users, software vendors, and other external agencies.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to SharePoint and Microsoft 365. Investigate and resolve issues related to the application, infrastructure, or deployment pipelines.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices for security, scalability, and reliability.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Agile and adaptable to changing environments and project scopes.

  • Microsoft Power Platform certifications
