Job Description

Skills, experience, and qualifications:

Essential:

  • The candidate should demonstrate an in-depth level of knowledge and understanding of electronic components & principles
  • Develop behavioural and physics-based models of power electronic components (e.g., converters, inverters, filters, magnetics, semiconductors).
  • Develop and validate models of automotive power electronic systems including onboard chargers, DC-DC converters, traction inverters, and battery management systems.
  • Perform system-level simulations using tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS, PSIM, LTspice, or equivalent.
  • Collaborate with design engineers to validate models against hardware measurements and refine models accordingly.
  • Document modelling methodologies, assumptions, and validation results.
  • Contribute to design reviews and provide insights based on simulation results.
  • Stay updated with the latest modelling techniques, simulation tools, and industry trends.
  • Collaborate with hardware and control teams to integrate models into real-time simulation platforms (e.g., dSPACE, OPAL-RT, Typhoon HIL).
  • Analyse thermal, electrical, and EMI/EMC behaviour of power systems under automotive operating conditions.
  • Support model-based design workflows and contribute to digital twin development for predictive diagnostics and performance optimization.
  • Document modelling methodologies, validation procedures, and simulation results for internal and customer-facing reports.
  • Stay updated with automotive standards (ISO 26262, ASPICE) and ensure compliance in modelling practices
  • Support control algorithm development and integration through co-simulation environments

Desirable:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in modelling and simulation of automotive power electronic systems.
  • Strong proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS, PSIM, or similar simulation tools.
  • Solid understanding of automotive power converter topologies and control strategies.
  • Experience with thermal and EMI/EMC modelling in automotive environments.
  • Familiarity with automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN) and embedded systems.
  • Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities, including key performance indicators:

  • Effective Develop the simulation for the system
  • Optimised the Design using the Simulation output
  • Document the simulation result
  • Implement the Digital Twin the System level
