In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to ABB's success with technology, software, product, and system development. Each day, you will identify and implement innovative solutions to relevant problems. You will also showcase your expertise by providing ideas and by being able to work both independently and as a part of a Research & Development (R&D) team.
The work model for the role is: LI-Onsite
This role is contributing to the Electrification Business Smart Power Division in Hyderabad.
You will be accountable for:
Design, analyze, and document new and existing power electronic products. Simulate circuit breakers for various applications and support thermal design through loss and efficiency estimations.
Identify and select suitable components, collaborating with suppliers to assess technical feasibility and ensure alignment with design requirements.
Build and test simulation models and hardware prototypes. Perform hands-on testing, troubleshooting, and data collection for both new and existing products.
Analyze test results to optimize designs and prepare technical reports. Work closely with cross-functional teams on control, testing, and layout tasks, maintaining thorough documentation throughout the process
Qualifications for the role:
You have a MS in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
You have enhanced knowledge in design and analysis of power conversion topologies. Familiar with power semiconductors (modules and discrete) technologies, thermal and electrical simulation tools (Ansys Maxwell/Icepack, SIMetrix, PLECS, MATLAB/ Simulink…)
You possess experience in designing, building, and testing prototype converters/solid state Breakers, demonstrating expertise in component placement for insulation voltage, signal integrity, and EMC considerations. Familiar with standard PCB design software packages (Altium Designer)
Proficiency in using digital oscilloscopes and other laboratory measurement equipment like spectrum analyzers, vector network analyzers, impedance analyzers, etc
Familiarity with MATLAB, Python (NumPy), or similar numerical calculation tools. Experience with simulation tools such as LTspice, PLECS, Simulink, etc.
Experience in low voltage power conversion industries and DC application.
Experience in SSCB development is a plus.
You have good communication skills and like working in team with positive attitude.
You are at ease communicating in English
