Reporting & Dashboard Development
- Design, build and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards aligned to defined business and reporting requirements
- Translate business needs into technical specifications, semantic models and effective data visualisations that support decision‑making.
- Develop reusable report templates, standardised layouts and visual design patterns to ensure consistency across the global reporting suite.
Performance & Optimisation
- Optimise Power BI report performance, including:
- Query efficiency
- Data model design
- Load times and refresh behaviour
- Overall usability and end‑user experience
- Apply best practices around DAX, Power Query, and model optimisation.
Deployment & Environment Management
- Manage Power BI deployment pipelines across environments (Dev → Test → Prod).
- Support controlled releases, versioning and change management for reports and datasets.
Support, Enhancements & Troubleshooting
- Troubleshoot data and report issues, investigate defects and implement fixes in a timely manner.
- Handle ongoing enhancements and change requests as reporting requirements evolve.
- Support data validation and consistency checks
Stakeholder & User Support
- Provide user support and training, including explaining metrics, report functionality and self‑service capabilities.
- Work closely with Finance, Operations, HR and IT stakeholders to ensure reports meet both technical and business expectations.
- Contribute to documentation covering data definitions, calculations, report logic and usage guidance.
Required Experience & Skills
Technical Skills
- Strong hands‑on experience with Microsoft Power BI (Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service).
- Advanced experience with:
- DAX
- Power Query / M
- Data modelling (star schemas, performance‑optimised models)
- Experience managing Power BI deployment pipelines and environment separation.
- Familiarity with data from multiple systems (e.g. timesheets, HR, finance, resource management tools).
Reporting & Data
- Proven experience delivering financial, operational and utilisation reporting at scale.
- Strong understanding of KPIs, metrics, benchmarks and business logic in a reporting context.
- High attention to detail around data quality, consistency and accuracy.
Stakeholder & Ways of Working
- Ability to translate ambiguous business requirements into clear technical solutions.
- Comfortable working with global stakeholders across time zones.
- Able to balance delivery speed with robustness and maintainability.
Desirable (Nice to Have)
- Experience working in global or multi‑region organisations.
- Exposure to governance, access control and data privacy considerations (e.g. GDPR).
- Experience with documentation standards and reporting best practices at enterprise scale.
