Job Description for MIS / Power BI Analyst
Job Summary
The MIS / Power BI Analyst is responsible for developing dashboards, generating business reports, analyzing operational data, and providing meaningful insights to support decision-making. The role requires strong skills in Power BI, Advanced Excel, data modeling, and KPI reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting & Dashboard Development
- Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards, KPI scorecards, and visual reports.
- Import, clean, and model data from multiple sources.
- Create standardized daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of all reports.
Data Analysis
- Analyze KPIs and performance trends to support business decisions.
- Convert raw data into simple, actionable insights.
- Use DAX, Power Query, and Excel to perform advanced data analysis.
Data Integrity & Management
- Maintain consistency, accuracy, and completeness across all reports.
- Apply row-level security and follow data modeling best practices.
- Continuously optimize reporting structures and data flows.
Collaboration & Support
- Partner with teams to capture reporting requirements.
- Support and troubleshoot existing reports and dashboards.
- Participate in review discussions and share insights with stakeholders.
Process Improvement
- Identify automation opportunities to enhance efficiency.
- Recommend improvements in reporting processes and documentation.
Skills & Competencies
- Hands-on expertise with Power BI (DAX, Power Query, Data Modeling).
- Strong proficiency in Advanced Excel; VBA is an advantage.
- Understanding of relational databases, queries, and ETL concepts.
- Analytical mindset with strong problemsolving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Ability to prioritize tasks with attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in MIS/BI roles.
- 1+ years of hands-on Power BI development.
- ITES / WFM experience preferred.
