Role Summary
Artiminds is seeking a Senior Power BI Architect to lead the design, governance, and performance optimization of enterprise-wide analytics solutions.
You will set architectural standards, mentor developers, and partner with senior business leaders to deliver best-in-class Power BI platforms that drive actionable insights.
A background with Snowflake and Azure Data Lake is important for end-to-end data reliability, but Power BI is the primary focus.
Key Responsibilities Power BI First
- Enterprise Data Modeling Design and maintain complex star/snowflake schemas, composite models, and large semantic layers to support hundreds of reports and thousands of users.
- Advanced DAX & M Author and review highly optimized DAX measures and Power Query (M) transformations for mission-critical analytics.
- Performance Engineering Lead capacity planning and tuning for Power BI Premium, including incremental refresh, aggregations, Direct Lake/DirectQuery, partitioning, and query folding.
- Governance & Security Implement and enforce Row-Level Security (RLS), Object-Level Security (OLS), workspace strategies, and tenant administration in Azure AD/Entra ID.
- Reusable Assets Build enterprise-grade shared datasets, dataflows, and templates to enable governed self-service analytics.
- Lifecycle & DevOps Drive CI/CD pipelines for Power BI using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions, including automated testing and deployment across environments.
- Embedded & API Architect solutions for Power BI Embedded or custom portal integrations when needed.
- Monitoring & Optimization Use tools like Power BI REST API, Log Analytics, and Performance Analyzer to proactively manage capacity, refresh, and user adoption.
- Stakeholder Enablement Conduct training, documentation, and adoption workshops to elevate business user capabilities and promote a data-driven culture.
- Cross-Platform Integration Oversee secure, high-performance connections to Snowflake, Azure Data Lake, and other enterprise sources.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- 8+ years of enterprise BI/analytics experience, with 5+ years dedicated to Power BI architecture and advanced development.
- Proven record of designing large, complex Power BI solutions supporting thousands of users.
- Deep expertise in DAX, Power Query (M), and dimensional modeling for high-volume datasets.
- Strong SQL skills and performance-tuning experience with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake preferred).
- Hands-on governance experience with Azure Active Directory / Entra ID.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills to influence executives and mentor technical teams.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Power BI Embedded, Analysis Services Tabular, or multi-geo tenant configurations.
- Familiarity with Python or R for advanced analytics or ML integration.
