Job Summary
We are looking for a Power BI & Microsoft Fabric Analytics Engineer with 2–5 years of experience to design and build scalable BI and analytics solutions. The role focuses on Power BI development, data modelling, and Microsoft Fabric-based data engineering, transforming raw data into meaningful business insights. Exposure to Tableau, Amazon Quick Sight or other BI tools is an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and semantic models.
- Work with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver analytics solutions.
- Develop data models, KPIs, and datasets for reporting and analysis.
- Work on end-to-end solutions using Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Warehouse, Dataflows Gen2, Pipelines, Semantic Models).
- Perform data transformation and ETL/ELT using Power Query and SQL.
- Ensure data quality, governance, and security in reporting solutions.
- Optimize Power BI performance and Fabric workloads.
- Support troubleshooting of reports, datasets, refresh issues, and pipelines.
- Assist in migration of legacy BI tools (Excel, SSRS, Tableau) to Power BI/Fabric.
- Implement RLS, workspace management, and deployment processes.
- Collaborate with data and business teams for delivery and support.
Qualifications
- 4-10 years of experience in Power BI and BI development.
- Strong skills in Power BI, DAX, Power Query (M language).
- Understanding of Microsoft Fabric components (Lakehouse, Warehouse, Pipelines, Dataflows Gen2, Semantic Models).
- Good knowledge of data modeling (star schema, dimensional modeling).
- Strong SQL skills (queries, joins, aggregations).
- Experience in data integration and ETL/ELT processes.
- Understanding of cloud platforms (Azure preferred).
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Skills
- Microsoft Certification: Power BI Data Analyst Associate or Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate
- Exposure to Tableau or other BI tools
- Familiarity with Azure Data Factory, Synapse, or Azure SQL
- Basic knowledge of Python or analytics concepts
- Exposure to Git, CI/CD, or DevOps practices for BI
- Understanding of BI governance and security best practices
- Experience in Agile environments
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Data Science, or related field
Nice to Have
- Exposure to AI/ML with Power BI or Microsoft Fabric
- Understanding of modern data architectures (data mesh, Lakehouse patterns)
- Experience in enterprise-scale analytics environments
