Job title: Power BI Developer

Role summary (one line):
Design, build and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and ETL pipelines to convert operational and ERP data into actionable insights for operations, sales, finance and manufacturing teams.
Key responsibilities
- Partner with business stakeholders (Operations, Sales, Production, Finance) to gather reporting requirements and translate them into dashboards and KPIs.
- Design, develop and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards and paginated reports; ensure performance and usability.
- Build ETL/data-prep workflows using Power Query / M / DAX, and collaborate with the data engineering team to ingest data from ERP (IFS / SAP / Oracle / in-house), CSV/Excel, SQL databases, and APIs.
- Create semantic data models, measures and calculated columns using DAX; implement row-level security where required.
- Optimize data models and report performance (data volume handling, query folding, incremental refresh).
- Validate and reconcile report outputs against source systems and financial reports; ensure data accuracy.
- Document datasets, data lineage, data definitions and dashboard user guides; conduct stakeholder training sessions.
- Support ad-hoc analytics requests and automate recurring reports/distributions (subscriptions, Power BI service).
- Work with Shyam Future Tech / IT to improve data pipelines, instrument telemetry for production lines, and embed analytics into business workflows.
Skills & experience (required)
- 4 to 6 years building BI solutions, with demonstrable Power BI (Desktop + Service) experience.
- Strong DAX, Power Query (M) and data modelling skills.
- Experience connecting to ERP/SQL databases, and familiarity with ETL concepts.
- Good SQL skills for data extraction and verification.
- Understanding of manufacturing / supply chain / sales KPIs (production yield, capacity utilization, inventory turnover, sales funnel) is a plus.
- Good stakeholder communication and ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, Economics, or related field.
Preferred / nice-to-have
- Certifications: PL-300 / DA-100 or equivalent.
- Experience with Azure Data ecosystem (Data Factory, Synapse), SSIS, or Power Platform (Power Automate).
- Prior experience in heavy industry / manufacturing / ERP integrations.
- Familiarity with Python/R for advanced analytics.
