We are seeking a highly experienced Power BI Developer with at least 7 years of hands-on experience in developing, managing, and optimizing interactive dashboards for a data analytics team. The Power BI Developer will be responsible for creating insightful and visually appealing dashboards that provide real-time analytics and performance metrics to support key decision-making. The role requires strong skills in data modeling, DAX (Data Analysis Expressions), report development, and the ability to work with large datasets.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of implementing Power BI solutions in a business or public sector environment, delivering impactful visualizations, and ensuring data accuracy and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Dashboard Development and Maintenance
- o Design, develop, and maintain highly interactive and visually engaging dashboards using Power BI that meet the needs of various stakeholders within the organization.
- o Create real-time, dynamic dashboards that provide insights into project performance, key metrics, and other relevant data points.
- o Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather and translate business requirements into technical Power BI solutions.
- Data Modeling and DAX (Data Analysis Expressions)
- o Develop efficient data models that ensure optimal performance of Power BI reports, including relationships, hierarchies, and calculated fields.
- o Write and optimize complex DAX formulas for calculated measures, columns, and table expressions to enable advanced analytics within reports.
- o Ensure data accuracy and consistency across reports by validating data transformations and implementing quality assurance processes.
- Data Integration and ETL Processes
- o Integrate data from multiple sources into Power BI, including databases (SQL Server, Oracle, etc.), Excel files, cloud services (Azure, AWS), and APIs.
- o Work closely with data engineers and database administrators to ensure smooth data integration, data availability, and scalability.
- o Build and manage ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) pipelines to ingest, cleanse, and transform raw data into Power BI data models.
- Report Customization and User Experience
- o Customize reports and dashboards based on user roles and access levels, ensuring that relevant insights are provided to different departments and stakeholders.
- o Implement drill-down capabilities, custom filters, and visualizations to allow for in-depth analysis and exploration of the data.
- o Continuously improve the user experience by refining dashboard layouts, visuals, and navigation to ensure clarity and ease of use.
- Power BI Security and Access Control
- o Implement role-based security in Power BI, managing access to reports and datasets based on user roles and permissions.
- oEnsure data confidentiality by setting up row-level security (RLS) and other security measures within Power BI reports.
- Conduct regular audits of user access and security settings to ensure compliance with data privacy regulations, including the DPDP Act and GDPR.
- Power BI Service Management and Automation
- o Deploy and manage Power BI reports and datasets within the Power BI Service, ensuring seamless integration with the organizations cloud environment (Azure, AWS).
- o Automate data refresh schedules, report distribution, and alert notifications to keep stakeholders informed of key insights in real-time.
- Monitor the usage and performance of Power BI reports through the Power BI Service, identifying areas for improvement.
- Required Skills Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field. A Master s degree is preferred.
- Experience in developing and managing Power BI dashboards, with a focus on data analytics and reporting.
