We are looking for strong Power BI Developer for our Bangalore Center.
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Power BI Developer to support our business intelligence and analytics initiatives. The primary responsibility will be to understand, map, and consolidate data from multiple source systems into a centralized data model, followed by the development of scalable Power BI dashboards and reports. The ideal candidate should possess strong data analysis, data integration, data modelling, and visualization skills, along with the ability to work closely with business stakeholders to translate reporting requirements into actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities
Data Discovery & Mapping
- Engage with business and functional stakeholders to understand reporting requirements.
- Identify and assess data sources across ERP, CRM, databases, spreadsheets, and other enterprise applications.
- Perform data mapping exercises to establish relationships between disparate data sets.
- Document source-to-target mappings, business rules, and data definitions.
- Analyse data quality issues and recommend cleansing and standardization approaches.
Data Integration & Consolidation
- Design and implement data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL/ELT) processes.
- Consolidate data from multiple systems into a centralized repository/data warehouse/data lake.
- Develop and optimize data pipelines using Power Query, SQL, Dataflows, Fabric, Azure Data Factory, or other integration tools.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and governance standards are maintained.
Data Modelling
- Design and develop scalable Power BI semantic models.
- Create efficient star-schema and dimensional data models.
- Develop DAX measures, calculated columns, and KPIs.
- Optimize data models for performance and usability.
Reporting & Dashboard Development
- Design and build interactive Power BI dashboards and reports.
- Develop executive, operational, and management reporting solutions.
- Implement drill-through, drill-down, filtering, and self-service analytics capabilities.
- Ensure reports meet performance, usability, and visualization best practices.
Stakeholder Management
- Conduct requirement gathering workshops with business users.
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Provide user training and knowledge transfer.
- Support UAT and post-production enhancements.
Required Skills
Technical Skills
- Strong experience with Microsoft Power BI (Power Query, DAX, Data Modeling).
- Proficiency in SQL and relational database concepts.
- Experience with data integration and ETL processes.
- Knowledge of Data Warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling.
- Experience working with ERP, CRM, HR, Finance, or operational systems.
- Understanding of Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Bricks, Azure SQL, or equivalent platforms is preferred.
Business Skills
- Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret business processes and reporting needs.
- Excellent documentation and communication skills.
- Experience working directly with business stakeholders and leadership teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Analytics, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, or Power BI development.
- Microsoft Power BI certifications preferred.
Preferred Experience
- End-to-end BI implementation projects.
- Enterprise reporting and dashboard development.
- Data migration and data harmonization initiatives.
- Experience in manufacturing, retail, healthcare, finance, or enterprise ERP environments.
Success Criteria
- Successfully map and consolidate data from multiple source systems.
